As she took to the stage, the atmosphere transformed. The girl's presence was mesmerizing, capturing the attention of the audience. Their eyes were fixed on her as she gracefully twirled, her body effortlessly gliding through the air. The music reverberated through the theater, enveloping her every move.

She moved with precision, her arms gracefully extending and retracting, perfectly synchronized with the melody. With each leap, spin, and turn, she exuded an aura of enchantment that seemed to draw everyone closer. It was as if she was using her dance as a vessel, pouring her soul into every step, every gesture.

If only anyone knew...

Gina was alone in an empty classroom, wandering aimlessly listening to music. The sound of her footsteps seemed to dance in rhythm with the music flowing through her headphones, creating a personal symphony that only she could hear. The melodies wrapped around her, transporting her to a world far beyond the confines of the room. The warm rays of sunlight bathed the classroom, casting a soft glow on the desks and chairs, illuminating the space with a serene ambiance.

Suddenly, a rush of icy water crashed against her back, sending shivers down her spine. The shock of the cold jolted her out of her trance, her eyes flying open. She spun around, a scowl painted on her face. "What the hell EJ!" She faced the senior holding a small plastic water gun.

He chuckled at her reaction.  "You were in here by yourself and already well into your 'dance dimension,' so I figured this would be the quickest way to get your attention," he explained.

Gina's glare intensified as she crossed her arms over her chest. "First off, fuck you because that literally makes no sense. And second of all, I'm guessing this means water polo practice is over?"

"Yeah yeah whatever," EJ dismissed, entering the room, snatching the headphones from her head. "What are you even still doing here after school in an empty classroom? I mean, it's kinda sad if you think about it."

Gina's eyes narrowed. "I was minding my business until you came in," she retorted, reaching for her headphones back.

EJ lifted the headphones just beyond Gina's reach, a smirk tugging at his lips. "What business is this, huh?" he taunted, sliding the headphones over his own ears. He took a seat at a nearby desk, his eyes widening. "Woah, you're listening to classical pieces? Thinking about dancing again?"

Gina yanked her headphones off him. "No," she chuckled dryly. "You ask that every time, and it's still not happening anytime soon. I hope you know that."

EJ leaned back in his chair, frustration crossing his features. "So then why were you in your 'dance dimension' when I walked in here, huh?" He gestured toward the headphones in her hands.

Rolling her eyes, Gina responded exasperated. "For the last time, I don't have a 'dance dimension,'" she emphasized with air quotes. "I was just walking around, listening to my music. That's all."

EJ let out a heavy sigh. "I don't know," he admitted. "It's like you're clinging to dance, however way you can. And I hate to say it, but you were honestly cooler back when you still did it, Gi."

Gina averted her gaze, unable to respond. The mention of her past passion sent a wave of conflicting emotions crashing over her. She had made a conscious decision to step away from dance, to distance herself from a part of her life that had once defined her. It was a painful choice, one she had wrestled with for a long time. Why did EJ feel the need to bring it up now?
