Chapter 8: New Years Banquet

Today was the New Years eve I was preparing for my performance I was wearing a beautiful long kimono my hair was already back on my fiery red color

The maids are preparing for the new years banquet

The other zodiac members are arriving at the at the scene I recognize one them as Shigure I went near him

"Sensei where are Yuki and Kyo" I asked him curious of his answers

"Both of them decided to skip the banquet" he said casually

"They what?? I wish I had the gut to skip" I said pouting

"I could already feel Kagura's fiery rage and Akito's silent fuming anger" Haru said behind me I got startled at his sudden presence

I was still wearing my kimono I still haven't wore my make up and I still haven't styled my hair yet

"How long have you been there?" I asked

"Long enough, Kurenai you look so beautiful in that kimono" He said  making me blush I took some of my hair strands and covered it in my face

Embarrassed at his sudden comment

"Ms. Kurenai you need to go back we still haven't started at your hair and Make up" one of the maids shouted making me jump

"oh I have to go, I need to prepare at my performance" I said holding my kimono because it's too long

"Ah yes we would now experience the bea-" He said passionately before Hatori hitted him in the head

"Won't you shut up" Hatori said glaring intently at Shigure

"Ah yes I would never forget the overprotective older brother" Shigure said while rubbing at the spot were Hatori hit him

"The Dragon guarding a Princess trapped on a tall tower" Haru said with a straight face

"Nice analogy you really are my favorite" Shigure said while giving Haru a proud thumbs up

"We should better get going"

Kurenai is already prepared at her performance at the banquet her usual messy fiery red hair is tamely kept, her pale plump lips has dark red lipstick and she is wearing a beautiful long Kimono that matches the look

(a/n: imagine that the hair is red with white tips)

It's a great sight to see

Seeing Kurenai Sohma dance is a rare sight to see it only happens in every blue moon and today is the blue moon

Her beautiful features shining brightly under the moonlight

"It is time" one of the maids said I followed her to the the hall room where the banquet would occur

My stomach is flipping I feel nervous at my performance it's my first time dancing (against my will)

We were at the hall room the lights were off I went into the center and I kneel down

I heard the music started playing the lights turned on it only occupies the part where the stage is

I started dancing I have fans as my props the music beautifully played I  and followed the beat smoothly my movements were elegant because of the amazing choreography (which Shigure did not compose) every step she made is near to perfection the song ended me kneeling down at my starting point

Everyone clapped at my performance Akito went towards me

"Your performance is beautiful as ever Kurenai" he said before whispering "That still doesn't change the fact that your a monster deep down" I remained unfazed at her comment already used at those kind of insults

But suddenly I saw a sudden Flashback in my head I saw a young Akito laughing beside her seeing a younger me struggling from someone's grasp and a small boy yelling my name

I clench my head tightly after seeing that flashback

I felt a hand touched my shoulder I saw Hatori looking at me concern filled in his eyes

"Are you ok" He asked with a worried expression

"Yeah I just felt a sudden headache pain killers would definitely do the job" I said to him smiling brightly

"That was beautiful we just had experienced the beauty of the fox zodiac"

"Everything was perfect you executed your dance gracefully I have never seen anything majestic as that"

Shigure and Ayame said passionately doing there weird ritual or something

I sigh at there idiocy and so did Hatori

"That was amazing" Ritsu said I still had a very depressing aura around me she realized it and started shouting

"IM SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO MAKE YOU FEEL BAD!!" She (he) apologize at me

"it's fine Ritsu-san you don't have to yell you might burst my ear drums" I said to her (him) I was glad that she started calming down

All of them complimented me I started sulking in the corner

"I did it against my will" I said it with a depressing aura around me all of them sweatdrop at my statement

"I almost trip in the dance" I stated  sulking in the corner

"Don't get hard on yourself you did a great job at this year's banquet" Hatori said comforting me all of the depressing aura surrounding me change into a happy and jolly atmosphere

"Really" I said holding my hands together I look at him with sparkling eyes

Mood Swing everyone thought

"Of course" he said smiling before patting my head my fox ears suddenly popped and I started purring like a cat

"You always make a great job" Haru said while hugging her and Hatori started glaring daggers at Haru which he didn't mind

"Oh you guys are so cute"

Kureno watch them carefully listening silently at the corner Akito saw his gaze his face form a smirk

"Oh Kureno you also wanted to join them well to bad you can't your not allowed to be with those monsters. Your more likely the illegitimate" he said evilly Kureno stared at him blankly at his insult

He turn his gaze to a certain girl with red hair and blue eyes they had eye contact for few seconds but she Immediately look away at him

He saw her talking to them happily he sigh

Well as long as your happy
