It's been six months since I sent I was sent off to the front lines it's a constant battle between the weather and the Germans were close to defeat but so are they and I myself am giving up just yet I will stay and fight for my country and my freedom from nazi regime even though we've lost so many so many great people and soliders some who I had been working with for years and others I had just met but still as the days go on our men get weaker for they are not only fighting one war but two because the cold nights just get harder and harder trying our best to keep warm and freeze during the long nights but not only this the nights feel even longer as you try and stay awake in case of emergency just case the German soliders had gotten into our trenches just in case they had sent a gas bomb or a grenade over our lines each day is battle against starvation and dehydration as the food and water supply is slowly running out each day is constant reminder that we most likely won't make it out of this alive I wish all my fellow friends and soliders the best of luck though we are closing in to our end. August 5th 1942 today we are been sent over our lines into 'no man's land' were death is most likely from underground mines and shells dropping from all angles but here goes nothing as we are led to the battlefield shooting guns dodging shells as we slowly get closer and closer to our enemies lines half of our already dead or seriously injured from bullet wounds to being exploded I zone out as all I could hear is screaming shouting I can hear my men calling my name but it's no use I've been shot it's my time to join the many others who had died in heaven going in and out consciences I'm great pain as bleed out to death on the battlefield. Back in the small town of Bamberg as injured soliders return back to camp and greeted by many for bravery they are taken into medbay and wounds are stitched and cleaned as well as cuts and scars the major sergeant of the British Army had arrived after seeing so many innocent lives taken in a second after bullets and shells bieng shot and dropped around them some came back barely alive but still there after all the soliders that remained had returned Amelia couldn't see Charlie anywhere she was scared and frightend knowing what had happened but didn't want to believe it she went and spoke to a few of the leading generals asking if he was okay even though she already knew that Charlie wasn't coming back for he was dead. By the end of war the British had won and all of the soliders were returning back home excited to see their wives and families that were still back in England Amelia had gotten taken back England with them there she was given a new family who loved and cared for her deeply she went on to live her life the best she could never for getting about Sergeant Charlie she kept his picture and lucky charm very close to her because even though she would never see him again deep down she knew he was still watching over her and that he would be protecting still no matter what she felt safe in her home with her new family and her new life
