6 Hearts

The Beginning

Alan's pov:

It was Alan's first day in middle school. Normal first day of middle school, what could possibly go wrong?...everything.
Alan was getting all sorts of weird thoughts about middle school when the car stopped in front of  his house.
Alan grinned, as two boys of his age came out of the car, Robert and Zach, Alan's best friends.
"Hello sir! Looks like you are up early" Robert announced.
"Mr. Barker! Good to see you sir!" Zach teased back.

Alan smiled. " Good to see you two as well, Mr. Jackson and Mr. McCall"

Alan walked to his friends and entered the car.

"Mr. Butler you may start the car" Zach said
"Excited for middle school?" Robert asked
"Nervous to be honest" Alan replied
" Ay kiddo? It's where real fun starts, middle school, heavenly place" Robert dreamed aloud

"Nice dreams buddy" Zach and Alan replied together

"Hey!" Robert complained

The three boys kept on talking when the car finally stopped.

"Mr. Jackson, Mr. McCall and Mr. Barker, it's time you three go inside" Mr. Butler announced

"Middle School Lads, we are growing big"- Zach

The three boys got out of the car.
Alan was wearing a dark blue denim jacket with ripped blue jeans and a black tee.
Robert had made himself comfortable in a red shirt and blue jeans. He believed in simplicity.
Zach was wearing a yellow hoodie with black jeans.

The three of them made their way through the other students, into the building.

They went to their lockers and started getting their books.

"You guys go ahead, I will join in later" Alan said

Zach and Robert went ahead while Alan tried to get a notebook out.
Alan turned around and saw the time 8:59am, he had to run.
Alan started running towards the class when he bashed into a girl
"Am extremely sorry!" Alan apologised
"It's.... okay. It was my fault as well" The girl replied
Alan bent down and got her books and he looked at her.
Alan caught his breath for a second, the girl was beautiful.
The girl had long black hair, slightly curled. She had the most beautiful smile with really pretty dimples and her eyes.... were the most graceful eyes ever.

Alan saw the girl was looking at him as well, and they both looked away at the same time.
Crap, he thought he had messed up.
Both of them got up and Alan gave her the books.

Alan cleared his throat. "Um am sorry again"
The girl replied in her sweet voice "As I said, it's not a problem, it was my fault as well"
She smiled. Alan smiled back.

"I suppose you are in this class as well" Alan asked.
"Yes, let's get inside before we get punishment on the first day" She replied

Both of them laughed and went inside. The class was pretty much messed up. Alan went and sat behind Zach and the girl sat in the desk beside him, behind another girl, probably her friend.

"Got lucky, the teacher is late"- Alan
The girl giggled.
"Btw, name's Alan"
"Scarlett over here"
"Good to meet you Ma'am"
"Feeling is mutual"

Scarlett's friends called her.

"Sorry, that's Chloe and Marie, will talk to you later"

Alan nodded and turned. He saw Zach and Robert making faces.
"What?" Alan asked.
"Nothing just seeing how much you have changed"- Robert
"You are making friends so fast, good eh"- Zach
"How about you tell us how you met her"- Robert
"How about you two shut up"- Alan replied

And they did as the teacher walked in.

The class was not bad, but as everyone knows, who likes classes?
As the class ended, the three boys went out.

"Phew, a lot of maths on first day huh"- Zach complained.
"What did you expect?"- Robert replied
"But Algebra and Geometry, both on first day, too much huh"
"Agreed"

Alan was slightly aware of the conversation when he saw Scarlett running towards him

"Hey!"- Scarlett
"Ah, hi! You here?"- Alan
"Yeah just like we didn't talk that much, so I thought you would like to exchange numbers"
" I will be obliged"

She smiled and they exchanged numbers.
"Alright and.." She saw Robert and Zach "....your friends?"

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot to introduce ya'll
This is Robert and that is Zach
And guys this is Scarlett"

"Sup"- Zach
"Yo"- Robert
"Hey"- Scarlett "Wait lemme call Chloe and Marie, you both would like to meet them"
She called her friends, and they were standing in front of his eyes within 10 seconds.

"Okay so this is Chloe and that's Marie"
"Hi!"- Chloe and Marie echoed

"Hey, am Alan"

"Nice to meet you, young man"- Marie
Alan was a bit taken aback.
"Marie! Don't worry, she's a bit sarcastic"- Scarlett
Alan smiled

" I know all about sarcasm, coz I am friends with the god of sarcasm, Zach"
" I am obliged puny mortal"- Zach

"Guys, chill"- Robert said
" Yeah, let the temperature be cool"- Chloe

Alan and Scarlett stared at each other, they both understood the protective natures of Robert and Chloe. They smiled and then they looked away.

"Okay guys, we have to leave now, what about we meet tomorrow after school"- Scarlett

"Am sold"- Zach
"Let the place be Domino's please, am craving for pizzas"- Robert

"With extra-"- Chloe
"CHEESE!"- Robert

And then they started about their pizza fantasies. Meanwhile Zach and Marie had begun to understand each other really well too.

Alan went a little close to Scarlett and whispered in her ears
"Let's go somewhere where we can talk.... these four are never gonna let us talk"
"How about an yes"- Scarlett whispered back

Alan smiled and they both went to the field area, nice place eh?

Hey guys this is my first work, and I thought that it would be nice to keep the first chapter short. Hope you all like it, and as I said it's my first work. Middle-High School genre has always been my favourite, it has friendship, romance, humour and so much together that wow, I fell in love with reading and now with writing. I promise I will try to give at least 4 chapters a month, and if am free it may increase to 5-10 short chapters or 3-4 long chapters, and if am busy I will give about 2 short chapters. I won't ask you to vote if you don't like my story, please share your opinions, negative or positive, it would help a lot!
