Emily POV
Waking up I felt numb like my other half was missing. I got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get something to eat and call my lawyer to settle this divorce.
I walk in the kitchen to see Chad eating apple
"Hey" he said
"Yeah" I sighed
"You know we could kill him" Chad said making me laugh
From since school days chad had this weird sense of dark humor that can make people laugh or nervous
"I think I'll keep that option open" I said laughing
" It's really good to see you laugh than crying your eyes out you are too beautiful for that"
"Thanks chaddy" I say getting a glare from him only to make me laugh some more
You see when we were smaller Chad took me to his grandma's house and she use to call him that and I teased him bout it the entire trip so he doesn't like but he puts up with it cause grandma still uses it to this day
"You promised not to use that nickname" he exclaimed slightly irritated
"It's all love Chad you love me anyway" i said as I kiss his cheek
"So what are you going to do now that you are getting divorced" he ask
"Honestly before I met him I was planning to start my own financial firm but I got married and things changed" I said I actually graduated from Yale I met Damien a week before my graduation at a club Brittany brought me to

"Is he handling the divorce settlement or you?"
"I am he thinks I am here for his money but I am making sure I don't have none of his money
I am going to call Bonnie she is a really good lawyer"
And with that he gets ready to go on his late shift leaving me to call Bonnie
20 minutes later I am on my couch talking to Bonny and stuffing my face with warm up left overs
After finalizing the settlement I went to bed taking Chad's advice about following my dreams and not letting no man belittle me and that's when I vow to be successful, strong and independent
