{Alexander}

I left the library where I knew Alevtina was still sitting in confusion, and I wouldn't blame him. I had to be cunning. I had outsmarted the fox. I was genuine with my words, mostly because bits and fragments from that drunken one nighter were leaking back in. I had truly fallen for the man Alucard a few years ago, back when we first met. I still remember that night in very vivid detail, and how it made me feel.

{Flashback}

The rain was warm under that summer heat wave, and I had just finished a job in Glasgow. I had chosen to wash off in a river nearby, just to get the blood out and off as best as I could, only to hear a gunshot go off, and feel the bullet whiz past my head. I look up, and the way the moon peeked through the stormy clouds casted a very interesting shadow over the gunslinger in question. I saw the man in red, and it was a shade to haunt dreams, the smile attached made promises, but few of them were good ones, and those sunset scarlet eyes were vibrant and glowing in the dark. I hesitantly stood up, fully knowing if this vampire wanted me dead, I very well could be, given I wasn't scheduled for the Regen project until Friday, and I just made promotion from deacon today. I put my hands up and carefully backed up.

" Who are you, vampire?"

" I am Alucard, papist. Who are you?"

" My name is Father Alexander Anderson. I'm the Judas Priest of Iscariot."

" Ah, I've heard of your mettle, now I wish to test it."

I pick up my blades, and rush him, knowing exactly what to do. I fought him hard and fast, and he was challenging me in ways no other vampire ever did. It was fun, thrilling, exciting, invigorating! I fought him in ways I never had to any other vampire. I loved his laugh, how it rattled the bones and chilled the soul, this vampire, this monster, was a worthy adversary, and somehow, I had pinned him, after a good solid hour of fighting, I had him pinned. His guns were too far to grab, his back to a tree, and I had one blade to his neck and the other to his balls, my face mere inches from his, his cold skin almost inviting after this heated fight in this shitty rain.

" You are one hell of a soldier, Paladin Anderson. You win this round, but I shall win the next one. You are a worthy opponent, my beloved nemesis, and I will relish in the day I finally best you for good."

He vanished into a plume of black mist, reforming behind me, then running off in a swarm of bats. I could still smell the muskiness of his coat, as if he lived in a basement underground or in a well kept crypt, but he also smelled of vanilla, sage, myrrh, and dragons blood resin. It was intoxicating, and it permeated my bones. I never wanted to forget this sweet, savory, earthy scent of my newly formed rival. One day, I'll be on top of you again, just not as rivals.

{Back to present day}

It's hard to think that fight was almost 15 years ago, but in the end, I got my wish. I remembered the smell, but that night, I couldn't think of from where, and somehow, it lulled me into a sense of desire I hadn't felt since the fight. And now here I am, one step closer to having them entirely mine for the keeps. All I needed to do now is learn his real name, his human name. If I learn his human name, and can convince Integra to give me complete control over him, then I can in a strange way set him free of the binds Hellsing put on him all those years ago. I have never loved anyone, not even God, as much as I do the mother of my daughter, and somehow, this accidental pregnancy, it gave me the in I needed to actually get all this achieved. I make my way to Integra's office, and knock on her door. I knew the next step was going to be hard as hell. I needed to be Alucard's master. I needed to have total control over him in order for us to have the happy ending he deserved to have with me and our daughter. All those years of hurt, he deserves some semblance of peace. Walter opens the door, and lets me in, letting me see Integra was nursing a glass of bourbon.
