Goode High meet Percabeth

Chapter 2

PERCY

After a night's sleep that I might consider good since I woke up after 5:30, it was almost time to leave. This morning Chiron had explained everything to us. We were staying at a hotel near Goode, which had been enchanted by the gods, so what looked like a 20 story building was much taller, and we were staying on the 300th floor.

"Come on, Kelp Head!" Thalia yelled at me. She and all the others, minus Leo and Jason, were standing by her pine tree. 

"I am, Pinecone Face!" I shouted back, picking up a pinecone and chucking it at her. She dodged and it nailed the tree instead. 

My cousin's face flushed with rage. "PEERRRRRCCCYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!" she screamed angrily, running down the hill. I quickly sprinted away, with Thalia close behind.

 Of course, Jason and Leo chose NOW to come. Both of them snickered, and from a safe distance, watched her try to kill me. Some friends🙄.

"Would you guys stop acting like 3-year-olds?" Annabeth shouted at us.

 "NO!" Thalia and I yelled back together.

 My girlfriend marched down the hill and over to me. I stopped, my eyes wide. Mad Annabeth = scary Annabeth. Thalia came to stop too.

 "Good. Now, Thals, you help Percy with his suitcase. And you boys," she glared at Jason and Leo, "better get your butts up that hill in a minute." 

The 2 scrambled to their feet, not stupid enough to upset her, and quickly lifted their stuff and ran towards the others, who were smirking. Thalia and I each took one end of my suitcase and walked up there too.

2 minutes later Chiron joined us. "Good morning children. Please pack your things into the bus," he said. That was it. We obliged (Annie taught me that word!), and when we all climbed into the actual sitting part of the bus, Argus was already in the driver's seat. The seats could each hold 2 people, so the order was like this:

It took about 3 hours to get to the hotel, but for bored ADHD demigods, it felt like 3 days. It got especially bad when Leo started singing This Girl is on Fire, but I'm not gonna get into the details...

When the bus finally pulled over Leo dashed from his seat and threw the door open, running outside and kissing the ground dramatically. 

"OH LAND SWEET LAND!!!" Leo cried as we all got off the bus too. Hazel threw up almost immediately so Frank and Piper cleaned it up and comforted her. 

Jason, Thalia, Nico, Annabeth, and I helped Argus get all of the suitcases out of the back. Argus went back into the bus and drove off.

All of us turned and finally got a good look at the hotel. It looked pretty normal, even a little boring, but that was probably a part of the gods' trick. It had the words HOTEL DUMONT printed in old, rusty metal letters on the front.

We went in and while Annabeth headed to the front desk, we all took a seat on the couches that were in the lobby. I overheard Annabeth talking to the guy who was sitting behind the desk.

"Hi, we would like rooms on the 300th floor," she said.

 "Sorry miss, there's no 300th floor." He looked bored. 

"Really? You know, 10 powerful demigods have a strong scent. You want monsters attacking your hotel?" 

The guy finally looked at her. "You guys the ones the Lord told me about? Are there actually 5 children of the Big Three, a Titaness, a daughter of Athena, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, and Ares?" 

"Mars, actually," my girlfriend corrected, "and yeah, we're them." 

The guy nodded. "Ok then, follow me." 

We all got up and followed him to the back where a golden elevator with VIP written on it was standing there. It was probably covered with the Mist or else mortal employees would probably faint. 

Nico, Annabeth, and I all paled. Well, Nico paled more. I looked out the window at the bright sun, thinking 'Bob says hello'.

"W-we'll take the stairs," I stuttered. The rest of our group looked sorry for us. The guy seemed confused but showed us where the stairs were. Annabeth thanked him and we dashed up. I tried looking at the bright side. If it was a gods' elevator than there was probably really bad music playing. 

The three of us got there a few seconds after the elevator got up. The guy looked slightly surprised but kept on walking. "You guys have this floor to yourselves," he droned in a bored voice, then turned around and left.

We were all really excited to see what our living conditions would be, so together we looked room by room. We went down a small hallway leading to a huge kitchen with a round table that had 10 chairs circling it. There was a door that we opened to find...

"AWESOME!" Leo and I shouted when we saw the rows upon rows of arcade games, along with a large table that had monster-free electronics stacked on it. There was another door that led to a loooooooong, wiiiiiiiiiiiiide, brightly lit hallway with tons of doors.

The first to the right was a blue and gray door that had PERCABETH! written in light pink cursive letters. Annabeth, Piper, and I sighed.

 "Looks like Aphrodite has been busy," Annie and I said at the same time.

 Piper exasperatedly wondered, "Mom, what have you done? But Percabeth IS the best..." 

"Let's find out later! Let's get to the other rooms!" I exclaimed.

Everyone looked across the hall to see FRAZEL written in blocky gold letters on a red door. A small pink heart sat just underneath.

 Hazel and Frank blushed, and Piper sighed again, shaking her head and muttering something about her mom.

We progressed down the hall, and the next door to the right had JIPER! in baby blue letters, circled by a heart. The exclamation points dot had been replaced by a small heart, clearly Aphrodite's doing as well. Jason flushed bright red, and Piper seemed very interested in her shoes.

Turning around, a door with CALEO written in fiery red letters also had a little heart underneath, this time blue. Calypso blushed pink while Leo just smirked.

The last door to the right was yellow, with an electric-blue THALIA on it. The door opposite of her room was black, with NICO written on in bone-white.

We all went our separate ways after that, Jason, Leo, Thalia, Piper, Nico, and I all going to the arcade room while the others headed back to their individual rooms.
