"since we ran into you, mingyu, why don't you join us?" ha-yi offers, mingyu looking at her like a confused puppy. "join you doing what?"

"there's a cafe my sister owns, and i asked her to keep the door unlocked and the keys with me tonight. i enjoy dancing or relaxing in there, so i invited wonwoo along!" she explains, "but now that you're here, all three of us can enjoy the night together."

mingyu happily agrees to tag along, and thankfully, they walk the rest of the way there. it isn't too far from where they stopped.

ha-yi's sister's cafe is definitely a good place to relax or unwind in. it takes up a big space, and with the chairs propped up on the tables for the night, the room seems pretty big. compared to that cafe mingyu goes to for daily coffee. green, lively plants sit in certain places of the room, which is a beautiful decoration. big windows allow streams of streetlight to enter, and mingyu also observes that the ceiling is high—that means he won't hit his hands or head if he jumps or puts his hands up.

"woah!" wonwoo gasps, looking around the room just as mingyu did. "she designed this place herself. she's great at that stuff," ha-yi beams at the boasting of her sister.

"well, let's not waste time," wonwoo sighs as he takes out his phone and plays some lively but calm music. "let's enjoy ourselves!"

they exchange glances before breaking into jumps and silly dance moves, laughing at and with each other without a worry in their minds.

mingyu starts badly singing along to the song playing, which is one of his and wonwoo's favorites. this makes the two jumping around burst into a fit of laughter, and soon, they join in too.

they jump around and waste all their remaining energy, but unfortunately, the time comes where they need to part ways.

"oh- i'm sorry guys, i have to go," ha-yi looks at her phone, frowning. "my sister wants me home for something. you guys will be fine walking home, right?"

"of course." the boys respond at the same time. "bye ha-yi!" both of them make their way out of the cafe so ha-yi can close it up, and wave goodbye to the girl.

"i ought to go home too." mingyu exhales. "i'm tired and i have to walk all the way back home. so, i'll see you soon?"

"you better see me soon. don't disappear again," wonwoo flicks mingyu's forehead before making his way across the street to walk home. mingyu walks the sidewalk, also walking to his house.

they ran a long way from home, and mingyu silently curses wonwoo and ha-yi for that as a joke. all jokes aside, his legs hurt and he needs to walk all this way to get home.

"jeez, those two...driving me crazy." he chuckles to himself. once he arrives home, he slips off his jacket, takes off his boots, and gets ready to watch another round of kdramas—but this time, in a happy mindset.

after a couple shows and getting ready to go to sleep, mingyu goes over tonight's events. it felt so familiar...

a lightbulb goes off in his brain after he thinks for a while, and remembers—that dream. the dream he had; where all three of them were running, and running, and running...and mingyu couldn't seem to catch up. tonight, all three of them ran through the changwon streets. it's true, mingyu was hanging behind, but in the end, he ended up catching up and stopping to laugh.

stopping to laugh away the silly past.

had he misunderstood his dream? does it not mean he's being left behind, but that everything will be okay after the long run? the long run of feelings, aloneness, and complications?

a soft smile creeps onto mingyu's face as he blinks up at the ceiling, eyes getting heavier.
seems as though he was right all along. everything will be okay.
