Unveiled

It had taken them longer than she'd expected, to carve out the detail paintings from the floor and take them back into the palace. Thankfully, they seemed to be the first ones back, so at least Aubrette didn't have to worry about her looks for now, or what she would say to them when they saw her.

Asher had gone into his study and started placing the paintings over the floor. Ignoring her as she'd walked inside, asking him if there was a way for her to help.

"Can you just talk to me?" Aubrette said as she tried to mimic what he was doing with his brush, trying to get as much dust out of the paint as possible. "You can't even look at me, can you?" she said, and Asher looked at her briefly before looking back down.

Aubrette sighed and returned to work, it seemed like forever before they finally gathered enough stardust to place inside his ring. Asher made sure to lock the room with the rest of the paintings before they walked towards Izabella's room.

"I can help you" Aubrette said grabbing his arm before entering. Asher looked at her and blinked, like he did not recognize the person in front of him, but he still nodded. And the both of them walked inside the room.

Izabella laid on her back with her eyes barely opened.

"What do you need me to do?" Aubrette asked as he watch him unwrapped the cloth around Izabella arms.

"Make sure I don't drain myself" he simply said and placed his hands-on Izabella's arms.

Aubrette grabbed Iz's hand. Trying her best to warmth her skin before realizing she could no longer do that, still she didn't let go, afraid that if she did Izabella might disappear in front of her.

She could feel his magic radiating off him, drowning the room in heat. Like he was the sun and they were just too close to it. Aubrette watch him as he placed the stardust on Izabella's marks and then let go.

"I can't" he said. "I can't do it" Aubrette let go of Izabella's hand, watching him take a step back.

"What's wrong?" Aubrette said. Walking off the bed and towards him. "Asher. Look at me" Asher turned his eyes to hers, and their glow felt warmth against her skin. "Talk to me" she whispered.

"Izabelle will be okay. I just can't be the one to do it" he said and left the room.

Aubrette felt coldness swept over the room as he walked out, Izabella barely conscious of their exchange. No. He didn't get to do this. He didn't get to walk out.

Aubrette hurried after him, her eyes briefly meeting Vereena's as she stepped in the hall. She shook his head and ran after him. Later. She would deal with that later.

"Asher wait please. Let me talk to you." Asher continued walking, passing the castle entrance without so much as giving her a glance. Aubrette tried to increase her pace but the only way she would be able to do that was portal and appear in front of him, and at the moment that didn't seem like the greatest idea.

"I have nothing to say to you" he said, rushing past Taj who seemed to have been waiting for him.

"You out of everyone should understand why I did this" Aubrette screamed ignoring the shook look in Taj's eyes as he saw her.

"Well I don't. I can't because contrary to you I'm not liar." Aubrette looked down to her feet, repressing the urge to hit him.

"What's going on?" asked Taj.

"Why don't you ask her?" Said Asher, continuing his path to his room.

"Your eyes..." he said as Aubrette's eyes met hers.
