♕ Silver and Gold ♕
The next morning had felt like waking up from a nightmare, although she'd barely been able to get any sleep at all. While she laid on her bed staring into the ceiling with nothing but numbness taking over her mind, Aubrette realized she was underneath his enemies castle, and to her advantage, none of them were aware of that information.
Aubrette had dressed the part, pulling Vereena's clothes from her closet and dressing her self in white and gold. When she stepped out of the room, she hadn't turn to the right, nor walked down the stairs into the main floor. She'd gone towards to the deeper parts of the castle, trying to make her steps as silent as she could.
The halls on the upper floor of the castle were empty. There were no people around, nothing but the distant chattering of the lower floor as people started making their way into the castle. Aubrette made sure to wait and hear for any unwanted steps, and then walked into the hallway.
She wasn't sure what she wanted to find, but she was sure of one thing, Mason had never been allowed on the upper floor, like none of the rest of Goldcrest were. So Aubrette tried to hide herself the best she could and walked in and out of rooms until her feet hurt.
Anything she could find at all would have been beneficial, and if the stars were on her side, she'd find something that they had looked over, something that could get her to have any sort of advantage. Something that would make being stuck here worth it.
She'd almost given up, the castle mixing into a maze in her mind. That was, until she'd found herself staring into a golden door with silver illustrations over it. They jumped out of the wood slightly, like they'd been added on to it as an afterthought.
When Aubrette stepped closer, she realized they were the same drawings she'd seen tattooed onto the skin of Vereena and the rest of the female guards, with the exception of their color, the color of Blackstone. Aubrette couldn't help herself but stare at the fine lines, following them with her eyes and realizing all pointed towards the doorknob.
"You're not supposed to go there"
Aubrette jumped in her place turning around immediately. A small boy looked at her with an amusing smile on his face.
"That's Asher's room" he said, with a that should be obvious tone on his voice. "Who are you?" he said, frowning at her.
"I'm Bree" Aubrette said, breathing deeply.
"I'm Bryden" he said. "Asher's not there, he and Taj go patrol the streets in the morning"
"Oh" Aubrette said. "I wasn't really looking for him"
"Then what were you doing?" The kid's green eyes sparkled back at her.
"I'm trying to hide from the people downstairs, they don't seem nice at all." Aubrette said, hoping that her actual emotions let the words sound like the truth. Bryden laughed.
"I have the perfect place for that"

Aubrette could hardly keep up with his steps as both of them rushed down different halls, until finally they reached a small staircase that led to a window. Bryden did not even stop to turn at her before climbing up, opening the window, and stepping out of it.
"What are you doing?" She said, hurrying up the stairs and watching him peak his eyes from the other side. "I don't think we should be going..."
"Come one!" He yelled.
As she stepped out of the window, Aubrette realized they were on a side of the roof. She could see people walking underneath them, as well as the faint line of the sea meeting with the sky in the horizon. The sight reminding her of watching Blackstone from her room, but much closer to the ground.
