I looked cautiously and quickly through the compartments for any sign of Harry. I knew I had to hurry, or we'd both be stuck on the train back to London.
I was close to losing hope, when I tripped on air. At least I thought it was air. But it was Harry, hiding under that cloak of his. His nose was broken and bloody, and his body was stiff and rigid. "Harry!" I exclaimed in shock. Someone had petrified him. I reversed the spell, and pulled him to his feet. "Episky," I said, pointing my wand at his nose. It healed instantly. He threw his arms around me.
"Thank you so much," Harry said. I smiled inwardly.
"What the hell happened?" I asked as we left the train.
"I might have been eavesdropping on Malfoy," He started cautiously, pausing for my reaction. I motioned him to continue. "and he found out. He petrified me, stomped on my nose, and left me under my cloak." I was admittedly upset at Malfoy for this, but I wasn't going to address hin about it.
We made it into the Great Hall. We stumbled inside, and all eyes were immediately on us. I saw people whispering to each other. My cheeks turned pink as I suddenly realized how the situation may have looked.
We both awkwardly stalked off to our tables, hoping that this whole thing wouldn't be an issue for longer. I heard vulgar insults disgusted as coughs coming from some of the Slytherin girls as I walked by. I just held my head up high and took my place, isolated at the end of the table.
Dumbledore announced the Professor Slughorn would be the new Potions teacher, and that Snape was taking Defense Against the Dark Arts. More whispers filled the hall as Snape's new position sunk in.
I ran into Ginny and Luna on my way out of the Great Hall. "Hello Natalie," They greeted simultaneously.
"Hey guys. Be honest, how bad did it look with Harry and I coming in late?" I asked nervously.
"Everyone was sure you'd been off snogging when you came in like that," Ginny teased. Luna nodded. I laughed.
"No, no. Harry gotten himself trapped on the train. I had to go back and rescued him," I explained vaguely. Ginny raised her eyebrows skeptically. Luna just zoned out completely. "Whatever, Ginny!" I laughed.
I went down to the Slytherin common room, and flopped onto my bed in my dorm. I ignored what my roommates were whispering as I hid in my four-poster bed, curtains drawn.
They could harass me all they wanted, but I wasn't going to care.
No, not at all.
