Chapter Two | The Project

Chloe's POV

I walk inside the huge building, my stomach in knots. Needless to say, I was nervous as anything.

I walked down the hallway with everyone staring at me. Like I mean I sorta expected it. I was new after all and nobody knew me and this town was small and I mean these people knew this people most likely since birth. Seeing a fresh face was rare.

Being the good girl I am the first place I walk to is the office to get my schedule and hopefully a tour. I tried to ignore the stares along the way but it was hard.

I walked in and was greeted by a tall man with a grey buzzcut and a suit. And let's just say he had a little bit of weight on.

"Hello there, you must be Chloe Braxton." He said sticking out his hand for me to shake it.

"Hey." I said softly and quietly taking his hand shaking it.

"My name is Mister Masters. I'm the principle here and I'm assuming you're new here." He said warmly with a smile on his face.

I simply nodded my head in response.

"Okay, so welcome to Reesemount High." He said flashing me a such a warm smile it was impossible not to smile back. "Here's your agenda along with the class times and room numbers and if you have any questions about anything please report to the office."

I nodded my head in response.

He handed me a sheet of paper and sent me on my way.

I sighed at the fact I didn't even get a tour. Like how am I supposed to find my way around this place?

I walked around the hallways for a little bit, clueless as to where I was going as I kept looking at my agenda.

"Science, room 158." I kept repeating to myself quietly, barely a whisper as I roamed the halls too shy to ask for directions.

After a while of hallway roaming, I run into a familiar face as only faith would have it.

Hunter.

"Oh, hi Chloe." He said happily.

"Hi Hunter." I said softly and quietly, just to be polite.

"So, you lost?" He asked me.

I nodded my head in response.

"Let me see you're agenda..." He took my paper and checked it.

"Aye, 10A. You're in my class." He chucked handing me my agenda back.

"Oh cool." I giggled very softly.

"That means I know where science is. Just follow me." He said as he started walking, me trying to keep up with him and not loose him in the crowd.

We soon reached our class and he escorted me in.

"You should probably take your seat next to me." He told me, taking his seat. "I'm the only one you kinda know."

"Good idea." I said shyly, sitting next to him.

The teacher soon walked in. She had her blondish greyish hair up in a tight ponytail and was wearing a tacky orange pantsuit.

"Hello class." She said laying her books on her desk.

"Good morning Miss Lilic." The whole class said in harmony.

"Okay, so we have a new student with us. Her name is Chloe Braxton." She told the class as my face turned bright red.

"Now, Chloe, the rest of the class learned last day that you will be partnering up to do a science project on anything you wish. You just have to write a paper with your partner, got it?" She told me.

"Got it." I told her softly.

"Great." She said with a warm smile. "Now everyone go with your partner!"

"Um, Miss..." Hunter spoke up shyly.

"Yes Hunter?"

"I was sick last class..I don't have a partner." He said.

"Oh, that's okay." The teacher said warmly. "You can just go with Chloe."

He looked over at me and smiled.

Looks like him and I will be spending a lot of time together.
