Phoenix's Flame (Kazuha x Reader)

*Chapter 4*

I awoke to screaming the next day, apparently one of the maids had came to check up on us. She saw us sleeping together and must've taken it the wrong way because when I opened my eyes, Kazuha was already being dragged out the room.

Turned out Kazuha had to spend the entire morning in the kitchen and he came out mortified. I couldn't get a word out of him so I settled with checking out the kitchen by myself. All I found were the staffs aggressively chopping cucumbers... strange? 

After that Kazuha swore he would never upset the head maid nor another vegetable for the rest of his existence. Poor dude. He even went as far as taking the gardener's job for the day and watered every single plant on sight. 

"Kazuha is watering these really necessary? Aren't you just wasting time?"

"No these vegetables are very precious, they are to be treated with respect, they are to be seen with awe, and they are to be kept in one piece."

"Kazuha... that's the fountain-"

"Oh" 

Yup Kazuha's completely lost his sanity. Maybe I should've been more careful about my actions, especially after my debut. Somehow I should make it up to him right? Buy him a cat? Give him a dollar? Or maybe some freshly cut vegeta- oh wait that'll probably make things worse. 

While Kazuha and I had been distracted in conversation, a boy approached us with a smile on his face. Apparently, I was pretty popular among the other clans in Inazuma because of my debut. The boy's name was Ayato and he was from the Kamisato house. If memory serves, he was next to a younger girl during my debut. Were they siblings?

The boy wore the casual Kamisato attire and had a smirk on his face that just begged for a punch. Though he had looks that would make most ladies swoon over him he was not interesting at all. 

As he was closer I could tell that he was about half a head taller than Kazuha. He was also wearing a rope instead of a belt. Was he trying to look cool or stupid?

"And who are you?" Kazuha asked in a polite tone, his early humours completely disappearing. "The princess and I were busy talking, what made you think it was a good idea to intrude?" 

"Oh apologies," he chuckled "I just wanted to see the beautiful princess in all her glory."

"So is she nothing but a pretty 'thing' to you?" Kazuha said raising his voice. 

"No please don't take this the wrong way, I just wanted a chance to talk to princess Y/N. You can't hog her all to yourself can you?" He reached his hand out and attempted to get closer. However Kazuha was quick to move me behind him, out of the guy's reach. 

"I don't think so, why don't you come back another time. The princess has class soon, it's not a suitable time for you to barge in here." Now Kazuha was really mad, you could almost see his crimson eyes glowing despite the daylight. 

"Alright, alright ,I get it, you sure are a possessive friend aren't you? I bid you farewell princess and possessive-friend-dude, until we meet again." 

"I'd like to fry his pants off." I muttered to Kazuha right after he left. 

"What stopped you?"

"The thought of what's covered by the pants..."

"Oh... yea good call."

"Well, I'm off to training now. I"d like to be able to beat everyone in this palace up singlehandedly by the time I'm 14. Care to join me?" 

"If it was any other person asking I would've declined but since the princess requires it, who am I to say no? He teased 

"Yea, yea whatever."

The two hadn't realized it but the daylight soon turned into moonlight while they were busy practicing their swords. The two of them were so focused they hadn't the moon shinning in the night. The servants had to remind the two to go to bed early or else they'd both get an earful in the morning. 

"So Kazuha, you think you'll ever beat me?" Y/N says with a teasing tone.

"Tsk. One of these days I will." The boy remarked with an irk. Kazuha had decided to walk Y/N home since the training arena was 10 minutes away from the main house. Though Y/N didn't need the protection she did enjoy his company. 

"Yea sure, fish will fly before that happens!" 

"Hey watch what you're saying!" 

"It's true~" 

The two continued the bicker back and forth until they reached the front door to the L/N estate. 

"I guess I'll drop you off here." Kazuha says.

"Thanks for walking me home, I'll see you tomorrow." 

"Yes I'll see you tomorrow, goodnight Y/N." 

"Good night Kazuha~" 

FunFact:

Y/N would on multiple occasions to bring Ms.Kaedehara medicine and everytime she did, she also brought a story of her and Kazuha's recent adventures. Lady Kaedehara had asked if Y/N wanted to marry his son in the future and Y/N replied with "Kazuha would need to wear high-heels in attempt to prove his manliness and I don't want him to break another pair of my shoes."
