I opened my eyes only to see the sun, shining brightly in my face. I drew my hand in front of my eyes and stood up. I realized what day it was and that realization petrified me.

I ran to the river and dived in, this was always the highlight of my morning. I swam a while. It was a small lake so I was able to do a few laps. After I pushed my self up onto the bank, I sat, letting the glorious sun work its magic. Relaxed, I started to sing my morning song.

After time near an hour passed by and I assumed it was almost three o'clock, I needed to be at the cafè sometime soon to try this coffee stuff. The walk was about an hour long and it was magnificent.

I arrived at the coffee shop, opened the door and heard the bell ring. My invitation was already sitting at a table.

I walked over to the lady behind the counter
"What time is it?" I asked her
"Three-forty."
"Oh, okay thanks"
Damn, I was so late.
"Hey, sorry I'm late. I don't own a watch or a clock."
"Oh that's okay, take mine."
"Thanks. So, what was your name again?"
"Oh Allen"
"Thanks, Allen."
We talked about random things for about half an hour. That was until he started asking really personal questions.
"So, why don't you ever talk to people?"
"Oh, you see, my parents died when I was six years old and I was shy then, I only ever really talked to them. So when they died I never really talked to anyone afterwards."
"Oh that's rough."
"Yeah."
"Oh and happy birthday!"
"Thank you."
To be honest I completely forgot about my birthday today. I was much too focused on my parents.

I looked over to my right and noticed a waitress walking towards us.
"Hello, what can I get you two today?"
"We will just get two coffees, please." Allen replied confidently.

It took about five minutes for the coffee to be brewed. There was steam rolling off the top, though I wasn't sure what that meant. Allen took a big sip of it.
"Is it good?" I asked him.
He nodded.
"Try it,"He urged me.
I took a giant sip of it, as I would water. It was so hot that I spit it back in the cup, Allen laughed at me.
"Hot, is it?" He giggled at me.
"Yeah, really hot."
"So what happened to your house after your parents died?" Allen asked me
"Oh, I didn't want to live in the house my parents were... never mind."
"Oh, I guess you'd rather not say."
"Yeah."
Allen sounded confused, but I couldn't tell him what I was about to say. No one could find out what I was about to say.
