Chapter 2: Be There

I woke up in the middle of the night because of a loud sound from outside. My clock said it was 2.37 am. Laura was nowhere to be found. I realized the loud sound was a thunderstorm roaming outside. I decided to get up to get some water and look for Laura. For some reason i want to make sure she is doing okay. 

I got to the kitchen and got myself a glass of water, but Laura wasn't in the kitchen. When i wanted to head back to bed i saw that the bathroom light was on. (She must have gone to the bathroom, no need to worry) i thought to myself, nonetheless i decided to knock and see if she was alright.

Noelle: Uhh Hey, are you alright? 

No answer. 

Noelle: Laura? Are you okay? 

Still no answer, instead i heard a sob. 

Noelle: Are you okay? Can i come in?

I heard a quite voice say yes. I went in and saw Laura sitting beside the bathtub, crying. I sat in front of her on the opposite side on the bathroom floor. I had no idea what to do, i dont know how to comfort people. 

Noelle: Want to talk about it? 

Laura: Its just the Thunderstorm, it terrifies me. 

Noelle: Oh i'm sorry, how long have you been in here? 

Laura: Maybe half an hour, maybe more...

She went quite again. I wanted to say something when there was a really loud thunder. Laura basically jumped into my arms out of fear. I was bright red but she couldn't see, at least i hope so. 

Noelle: H-Hey i got you, its alright. 

She started sobbing again when i had a idea. 

Noelle: Wait here, ill be back in a second i promise. 

She let go of me with a sad and scared face, and i quickly went to my nightstand. I grabbed my phone and headphones and basically ran back to the bathroom. 

Noelle: Here, put these on and listen. 

She crawled back into my lap and listened to the music on my phone. Then there was another huge thunder, but she couldn't hear it. She was smiling, dozing off in my lap, with music blasting. I usually didn't like thunderstorms myself, but at this moment i didn't care at all. I noticed she had fallen asleep again, but we stayed in the bathroom so she wouldn't wake up from a lighting.  I stayed awake the whole night, just thinking and making sure she was okay. It was 4.25 now, but i could still here thunder, but it was further away now. I really wanted to fall asleep too, but my mind and body wouldn't let me. What if she woke up and needed something. After a while i felt like i couldn't stay awake any longer, my body was begging me to go to sleep. it was 5.16 now and the storm has faded in the distance. I took the headphones and my phone and carried Laura to my bed, placed my stuff back on the nightstand, crawled into bed and cuddled with Laura, i fell asleep right after. 

When i woke up, it was 11,46, i was alone in bed. I got scared for a second, thinking Laura wasn't feeling well again, then i smelled something. I got up and went into the Kitchen, seeing the blonde making breakfast. 

Noelle: Hey, why are you cooking? the cafeteria is like 5 minutes away? 

Laura: Good Morning, i wanted to thank you for last night, letting me sleep in your bed, cuddling with me and comforting me when i was scared. You even stayed up for me didn't you? You where dead asleep when i woke up. 

Noelle: Oh no problem, glad i could help. 

Laura: You were a huge help, i'm so thankful you did that. i thought breakfast would be a good way of saying thank you. Its scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, and i made coffee too. You can sit down on your table, Netflix is already on so you can watch and ill bring you the food over. 

Noelle: Wow thank you so much, can't remember the last time someone made such an afford for me. 

Laura: Glad to be of service. 

She winked at me and went to the fridge to get something, while i went to my table to hide the bright red color of my face. I started watching an anime when Laura came over with the food. 

Laura: There you go, again thank you so much for helping me. 

Noelle: Wow this looks delicious, mo problem dont worry, ill always be there.
