Chapter 8: Fear of Strangers

I woke up at 5 am to the sound of my alarm, but i just wanted to ignore it. I was way to tired to get up so early in the morning. 

Laura: Hey come on we have to get ready. 

Noelle: mmm no. 

Laura: We can get extra coffee?

I just mumbled something and nuzzled back. Then i realized we fell asleep on the couch. Together. I was still on top of her, which meant i was nuzzling into her. I turned red and got up.

Noelle: Haha yeah good, ill go get changed now. See ya. 

I quickly went into my room, shut the door and just sat there. God i'm so awkward, she must think i'm a total weirdo. Why do i have to be so weird. I went to my closet and grabbed some clothes, blue jeans and a lime green hoodie. I looked into my body mirror and noticed that i had changed back. Thank god. I got changed and went back into the living room. 

Laura: Hey, i'm almost done too.

Noelle: Hey, i'm just gonna use the bathroom real quick before we leave. 

I went in and locked the door. I looked in the mirror and told myself "I can do this". I was actually terrified. I have had social anxiety for a long time, but with me turning into a monster whenever i don't feel well, makes this a bit difficult. I'm so scared i am going to do something stupid. I brushed my teeth and got ready to leave. I got out and took all the stuff i needed. 

Laura: Ready to go?

Noelle: No, but i guess there's no going back now. 

Laura: Nope, but don't worry i'll take care of you i promise. 

I nodded and we headed out.

Laura: The café is close so we have some time to kill before class, at least we can get some breakfast. 

Noelle: Yeah, but i'll pay this time. 

Laura: Fine, but its my turn next time.

We both laughed and were already close to the cafe. We went in and went to the register and got ready to order.

Laura: Don't worry, ill order. What do you want? 

Noelle: Thank you, i'll just take a normal coffee. I will eat later.

Laura: Alright, leave it to me. 

We went to the waiter at the register and Laura ordered. As the waiter started making our order, them and Laura had some small talk. I got a bit protektive, but i couldn't pay much attention to their conversation, the smell in there was a bit overwhelming for me. I did get the persons name tho, Ryan. After they were done making our food and coffee we took it and sat down. I just stared into the void, trying to ignore the things i could smell. 

Laura: Hellooo, Earth to Noelle. 

Noelle: Sorry what? I was a bit lost there.

Laura: Its okay don't worry, i just said that the waiter was really nice. 

Noelle: I didn't pay much attention to them, sorry. There's so much new stuff i can smell and hear, its a bit hard to concentrate. 

Laura: Oh that's okay, we are gonna train that. Don't worry about it i will help you. 

She gave me a reassurering smile. 

Noelle: Yeah, you are right. Thank you.

Laura: No problem. 

She ate her food, and i got my coffee to go. Then we started to go to class. We had a plan and our classroom number written down so it was rather easy to find. We both sat in the back, since we were first we could decide, so i would not get to anxious. We had about one hour before the class started, so i got out my computer and just watched some YouTube. I got sleepy after a while and it was a pain to stay calm. I got more anxious with time. Then i felt a hand petting my head and i was calm again.
