Melissa's pov
Natasha and I walked into the pool room in the now Avengers Tower. We had beach towels slung over our shoulders and we were both giggling over some hilarious cat memes.
"Lol, look at this one! This is probably what guys feel like when they ask the girl they like and the girl rejects them.", I laughed while clutching my stomach.
"I actually feel for that cat right now.", Natasha said while giggling.
I pushed a couple buttons and a part of the Tower was converted into a balcony. What happened was a single story of Tony's Tower was an indoor balcony. When I pushed a button, the balcony would come out.
So pretty much it was like a drawer being opened, except your hundreds of feet in the air. Natasha and I laid towels out onto two beach chairs.
We both put some sunscreen on our faces and shoulders. Then we took turns spraying each other tanning oil. I put on my sunglasses while Natasha put on her beach hat.
I had also cut my hair recently, especially after Bucky nearly ripped all my hair out of my head. My hair was now shoulder length that fell in soft curls that framed my face perfectly, or so Steve says.
He was brainwashed obviously, but anybody else could do that, so I decided to cut my hair like Natasha's. And it reminded me of the 40s as well. To be honest, I still absolutely adore 40s clothing. Well, women's clothing to be exact. Men's clothing was horrible back then.
Anyways, you are probably wondering what an Avenger is doing tanning, well we had just taken down another HYDRA base and were taking a few days off to rest our bodies. Fury had actually ordered us to do so.
Nat and I were the only ones who listened. Steve, Sam, Thor, Tony, Bruce, Rhodey, and Clint were all doing their own little thing.
I layed down on the chair and picked my phone up again. I started going through Instagram and watching food videos.
My mouth started watering when I saw a Chicago style pizza. The pizza was rectangular, loaded with tons of mixed cheese, there were bacon bits with ham and pepperoni. Weird meat combination but whatever, it still looked really damn good.
"Natasha, how bout we go fly to Chicago and get us one or two of these.", I joked and showed her the video. I could see her starting to salivate and she licked her lips.
