Harlow
His fist suddenly curled around my neck, lifting me high up into the air before slamming me onto the ground. His eyes flashed a cocky gold as he grinned down at me. My hands flew to grab loosen his arm that was tightening more by the second.
I ground my teeth together but kept my physical facade up. I looked around to see the people around us scattering as they stared at the scene in shock. I rolled my eyes, realizing the chances of someone helping me were slim to none.
"No need to play innocent love, show me those beautiful brown eyes"
My head snapped back to meet the gaze of the King. His half brown half blue eyes still haunted my soul as I struggled to find any hate for him in my heart. I felt my neck explode in sparks where our skin met that were almost pleasurable enough to make me moan.
"No, I quite like these ones" I bit back, hostility in my tone. Still trying to get him to release his hold on my air pipe.
I saw the challenge in his eyes as his upper lip curled up in response. His hand easily began crushing my neck, completely restricting my breathing. I let out a gasp, desperate for air that I wasn't going to receive.
"Be a good girl and change back for me, baby," He told me huskily.
My lungs constricted as they burned for air, my brain going misty along with my vision. I felt my eyes well up in tears as I wheezed for oxygen, I knew that I wouldn't be able to take much more of this for longer than a few seconds.
And the last thing I wanted was to was pass out on these pristine floors.
Fuck his mate, where is that bitch.
Come and calm your man down.
I looked in his eyes again and I stopped struggling, accepting defeat. I pulled back the whole front and felt my natural hair burst through the bun and curling down my shoulders. My tan skin glowed through the pale one I'd previously taken and my eyes returned to their original brown.
I tapped out on his knuckles and they immediately softened and loosened their hold. As soon as his fingers were away from my throat I looked away to cough up a wheeze, filling my lungs with the air.
"There's a good girl" The mocking voice of the king came out. "What are the rest of you still doing here, get out!"
Everyone else could not have been told quicker. I ignored their shocked gazes as the thundering of their footsteps leaving hit my ears leaving me envious and bitter. I was so close, I should be running out with them.
"So this is her?" Someone sneered. I didn't bother to see who said it. It was his Gamma. She had ugly ass vocal chords though.
I would never steal such a voice.
Even I have standards.
"She's definitely what you described" I heard his Beta comment. I ignored them and continued massaging the bruise forming on my neck.
"Yeah, she's...something" The King muttered back. He outstretched his hand for me to take and I ignored it, scrambling away from him. "Don't run, I'd hate to catch you for the third time" He sighed exasperatedly.
"Get the fuck away from me".
"Never heard a human talk like that" The woman chuckled. I resisted the urge to wince at the sound of her laugh.
"As you can see, she's not like any we've encountered before," The King said, stating the obvious. "Can you tell us your name?" He asked politely. Speaking to me as if I was the dangerous and unpredictable animal.
"Up my ass you son of a bitch" I told him snarkily. He tilted his head at me.
"Am I going to have to choke it out of you?" He cooed, a threatening glint in his eyes. I huffed.
"Harlow" I spat under my breath. Not bothering to raise my voice, their inner dogs would help them hear it.
"Harlow" He tested on his tongue making a warm feeling heat up my chest.
"Yeah, don't wear it out" I mumbled sarcastically but he didn't seem to care. There was a radiant smile on his face and he was looking at me as if I just shit a diamond.
"You know Harley things could go a lot smoother if you didn't only respond to violence" He joked.
I looked him up and down distastefully, "No, this would go a lot smoother if you'd just let me go"
"So you can go back to burning buildings and killing innocent wolves?" The woman snorted unattractively.
I bared my teeth at her sweetly "Yes actually".
She gave me a glare, her eyes flashing an insulted blue.
"Okay, clearly we're not getting anywhere with you" He started walking closer to me "Let's go somewhere without prying eyes" He suggested.
"I'm not going anywhere with you" I hissed. Keeping my eyes on him cautiously, I got into a more defensive stance.
"I don't have the time for this" He wasted no time in filling the gap between us and grabbed my arm, tossing my body over his shoulder as if I weighed nothing. I immediately reacted, starting to kick my legs and twist my body around. He replied to my struggle by pinning down my legs and holding them together in tight grip.
"Heavens she's difficult"
I turned my head to look at the woman "Trust me you haven't seen shit yet".
