Since this started it's been hard to be positive...

You probably have no idea what i'm talking about.

Let me explain My name is Nalani Secari I am 16 years old and since basically the end of the world has started me and my sisters have been on our own....

Turns global warming was something to really be feared don't get it wrong that's not all that happened diseases wars and a rising of people with abilities from the electromagnetic fields radiating in the air.

Me and my sisters were at home when my mom was packing for us rushing us to get out she didn't have time to get us out though. The asshole soldiers came and while we made our escape our mother was murdered. 

The soldiers and the legion, The legion is an organization of rebels you'd think that's good 

based off what I told you about the soldiers. Wrong legion are also a group that didn't get abilities and want all the people who did to be wiped out. Older adults don't have the marks is usually the kids teens like us. The mark is a distinctive symbol etched into the skin like a branding or burn marks are similar but different in unique ways.

The reason they won't side with soldiers is because they are a reason all this mess happened in the first place a thing they have in common though is wanting to wipe out all humans with abilities.

Since the outbreak I have seen others with abilities for some reason only our family has this white hair thing. This power is a curse though it's dangerous but we shouldn't have to die because of it. As my power grows the darkness in my hair starts to fade more and more patches of white we are a clear target for people trying to wipe us out.

"Na Na"

"Ughhhh Na Naaaaaa wake up we have to go"

I could hear Abeni calling to me from my sleep "whatttt" .

"Get up Dummy" Alani said

"im up im up"

We've been staying in this vacant apartment complex soldiers cleared it out when they were taking Marked ones.

"Where's Hana" I looked around frantically she tends to wander off a lot I worry for her a lot.

"she found another abandoned corner store so she's getting food for us we're gonna go catch up with her so come on" Alani said.

"Here I come" 

I got off the bed and got dressed. I got in a good rest for the first time in a long time sleeping in cars don't really do it for months at a time. I brushed my teeth and did some quick cleaning you gotta stay fresh even at times like this. It sucks before this I had such cute outfits now i'm down to just hoodies and combat books looking straight out of the walking dead.

"Alright i'm ready" I see Abeni and Alani waiting for me.

"About time" Alani says

We head out it's so weird the world use to be so vibrant.

"Yo Na Na your boots are starting to have holes in them" Alani said to me teasing with the biggest cheesy smile on her face i'm happy to see her smiling she has been very grumpy since all this also since she hasn't been able to use her power.

"Ha Ha Ha very funny lani I-" I looked down there actually was a hole in my boots.

"Man f*ck" 

We all laughed " Atleast I don't got no holes in my shirt looking like I got shot or something" I said laughing.

"You got jokes huh dum dum" Alani says smiling.

"i always got the comebacks for you La La"

"Damn bro I really miss my phone i could just scroll through tiktok for hours instead I actually have to have an attention span now" Abeni said.

"Deadass it sucks it had to come to this" 

"It's the stupid f*cking soldiers fault man if i could jus-" Alani said

" I know lani but don't get hateful remember what momma said forgiving is the best reveng-"

" Bullshit! and what happen Na Na huh they killed her you know what is better than forgiving avenging our mother" Alani says. I am kinda relieve Alani doesn't have powers yet she might have already gotten her revenge if she did. 

" You don't think i'm pissed too it took everything in me you remember! but we can't be reckless not with the weapons they have we have to be strategic"

"Yeah, Yeah those soldiers will pay I never forget a face" Alani says.

We arrived in front of the store Hana came out cheerful as always "Yooo my guys you won't believe I found tons of toilet paper and pads!!! finally it was getting rough sheesh" Hana said

Me and Abeni laughed at her Alani just smirked slightly probably still thinking about the soldiers.

"There any good food we'll help you get it in the truck"

"Yeah I found brownie mix tooooo girl lets hurry before the legion bullies try to claim it"

I smiled we all began to grab canned goods and basically everything in the store especially water until we couldn't fill the truck anymore. Hana is so positive which is surprising based off what happened to her family.. 

Yeah the soldiers got her family too her mom and dad the worst part was her baby brother Hana has no mark but her brothers did her youngest was murdered by the soldiers and her parents too while trying to protect her little brother her eldest brother saw it happened and used his power to get away before they killed him too. He took off he needed to be alone I guess I hate him for leaving Hana though. Since then she kind of wears a mask I can tell she's family in my book though she's another sister to me.

"Let's get out of here" Alani said

We hopped in the truck I put in my fave lana CD.. Yeah she hits different at times like this.

"You got the map" Hana said 

"Yeah it's a straight ride mostly but there are some slight turns"

"Where are we going again" Abeni said

"There's a group of marked ones that are supposedly forming an organization in Atlanta Ni Ni hopefully we'll be safe there"

This is our only hope we heard of this group forming we need to come together you might think why do you fear the soldiers if you have powers they have weapons designed to fight us we could counter but we'd cause a blood bath I don't want to be a killer... 

Hell I already am I try so hard to bottle it up but when mom died that night I just snapped hopefully we make it to Atlanta safely no interferences. Goodbye New York.
