"A soulmate is someone that just gets you. It's a connection of minds, a mutual respect, an unconditional love and a total understanding. It's about being yourself and knowing, not only that person is following and understanding your thoughts, but is right there with you, side by side."
"Soulmates" Freed whispered as he stared at his finger. "I wonder who's my soulmate."
'Searching'. That's what everyone would declare after seeing what Freed was doing.
His table was full of books, old and new and all of them were about one thing, 'Soulmates'Freed Justine, a mage of Fairy Tail and leader of Thunder God Tribe.
He is one of the most mature ones of the guild.
Everything was going fine for him until one day he discovered about what the thread attached from his pinkie meant-
________________________________________It was a normal day for Freed and the Thunder God Tribe, sitting in the corner of the guild quietly.
The guild seemed a bit peaceful today because one of the troublemaker was on a mission.
"Man, the guild is so peaceful when there's no Natsu." Bickslow said what was on everyone's mind.
"Whenever he's in the guild it gets loud." Evergreen stated while reading the Weekly Sorcerer.
"True. But without him our guild feels empty." Freed sipped on his coffee.
His statement made his friends smile.
"Yeah. He makes our guild lively." Evergreen nodded her head.
They were back to their own business when a spicy topic went around the guild.
'Soulmates'This caught Freed's interest and he went up to the bar to hear clearly what actually they were discussing.
"Soulmates seem so romantic!" Lucy squealed. "I wish I could meet my soulmate."
"Hmm." Mira smiled. "I heard that soulmates share their feelings."
"They have a connection!" Juvia was all red and smoke came out of her ears. "Juvia knows that Gray-sama is her soulmate!"
"They are connected by a red thread." Erza said seriously.
"Well it's not really neccessary that soulmates are connected with a red thread." Lucy sweat dropped."Red thread." Freed whispered and stared at the red thread tied to his pinkie. A blush appeared on his face as he thought about this.
He was never interested in things like Soulmates. Thus, never made a real effort to learn about it. So he didn't actually know about the thread tied to him. A few times he tried to follow it but the thread went too far. Too far for him to follow it, he knew that following it would only become an extra obstacle to his goal so he stopped.
He stopped caring about the thread at all, it was like it never existed.
A few times he even tried cutting it but whenever he cut it, the next day it always grew back."Soulmates bounded by a red thread of destiny." Freed muttered. He played with the thread for a while wondering what he should do about it. Suddenly-
"Ughhh." Freed felt his chest tighten.
'I am sorry' he could hear someone crying. Whoever it was she was in a lot of pain. Freed found himself trouble in breathing.
He could hear his friends. Calling him. Worried about him.
'I am sorry I don't remember.'
Freed lost his consciousness.
________________________________________
This happened long ago and since that day Freed started searching for his soulmate. Whoever she was. She was in a lot of pain.
Freed wanted to find her and help her. He would get nightmares all of a sudden and was not able to sleep properly."6 months" Freed whispered. "6 months passed and I still couldn't find you." He set the book down on the table and made way to the kitchen.
"Hi Freed." Lucy smiled at him. Today she came to help Freed.
Freed smiled.
"6 months passed and I am still searching for you but everyone's helping me so I am not gonna give up."'Find me soon, my prince.'
And that was the first time Freed heard his other half talk to him.
