Chapter 5

Few weeks later-

"Aahh" Freed was feeding Felicity.
"How's it? I made it myself." Freed grinned feeling a bit proud of himself.
"Its good." Felicity smiled. "By the way, what were we gonna do today?" She tried to remember.
"Hmm..we are going on a picnic." Freed chuckled as he recalled how Erza wanted everyone to go on a picnic and whoever refused...well let's leave it.
"We still have time. They'll be here to pick us."
Felicity yawned and lied down. She gestured Freed to come closer to her. Freed lied down beside her.
"If I forget their names help me remember. Okay?" Felicity moved close to Freed.
"Of course I will." Freed kissed his soulmate's forehead.

"So Freed. Have you confessed your undying love to her yet?" Bickslow was trying to tease his friend.
Freed blushed. He glanced towards the direction where Felicity was playing with Natsu and gang.
He coughed. "No, I haven't . But I plan to do it soon."

They were all having lots of fun. Suddenly Felicity collapsed.
"Felicity!" Freed ran to her. "Are you okay?"
"Hmm..Freed..." She didn't say anything else and closed her eyes.
"Her condition is worsening." Lucy whispered.
"I'll try to help her." Wendy said and started healing Felicity.

"She must be working her brain too much." Lucy sighed, she felt bad for Felicity. For Freed...
Freed stood their quietly, he clenched his fist.
"Felicity..."

Later-

"See you later." Felicity bid goodbye to her friends.
Freed came out of the shower. He sat on a chair beside the bed.
"Freed..are you angry?" Felicity asked, she was scared that Freed was angry because she ruined the picnic for everyone.
"I am sorry I didn't mean to..."

Freed smiled. She was just like a little kid.
"How can I ever get angry at you." He patted her head.
Felicity's mood brightened. "Then please tell me a story!"
Freed chuckled and got into the covers with her. He held Felicity close to him.
"So, this is a story about a princess and a demon.
Long ago, there was a beautiful princess. She was strong, wise, kind hearted, everyone loved her. And in the same kingdom as hers there lived a demon, deep inside the dark forests.
One day when the princess was visiting her friends she got separated from the group and got lost in the forest. There she met the demon-"
"Did the demon eat her?" Felicity questioned.
"I'll tell you what happened.
The princess saw the demon and was scared but she didn't show it because she somewhat felt that the demon too was scared.
After that they became friends and slowly fell in love. But the story didn't have a happy ending cause the princess died in the end. The demon didn't age but she did because she was a human and that brought their love story to its end. But it is said that the demon is still waiting for the princess to come back to him."

"It was a sad story." Felicity muttered. She looked at Freed who seemed to be sad. "Freed, are you sad?"
"Uh.. no I am just tired that's all." Freed was sad indeed, just like the princess, Felicity too was going to disappear one day.
"Freed. Do you know ever since you came in my life I've started to enjoy it more." Felicity suddenly spoke. "I kept on cutting off the thread that connected our lives hoping that you would never find me, so that you won't get hurt. But I guess I was wrong to think that. Afterall you were trying so hard to find me."
Freed kept quiet, he knew she had more to say.
"Its hard trying to live knowing that one of these days you're gonna die but whenever I am with Fairy Tail, with you I don't worry about a single thing. You are the best thing that happened to me." She raised her pinkie. "I am glad that this thread brought me to you."
"I love you Freed."

Freed was trying his best not to cry. Both of them sat up, Freed cupped Felicity's face and then that day they shared their first kiss.
"I love you too, Felicity."
