My first private classes with Headmistress Dowling start today. And I assume she expects me to wear the necklace my mom had provided. I suppose I could take it off after.
I'm not sure if I'm a light fairy at all. I could barely produce light; my powers are quite the opposite. And so for my first task, Dowling has rendered me four elements that my powers should channel- water, earth, fire, and air.
I take a deep breath, trying to control my mind even though I haven't. I had to form a simple sphere out of the bowl of water.
"Concentrate," Dowling advised. "Focus on what you have to do, what you feel to do."
I close my eyes and all I could see and feel was the pressure this sheer task has put upon me. I don't know if what I feel is anger or sadness. I feel the slight change of my eyes, flashing blue, I felt fulfilled that I might've taken dominance of my powers; or so I thought.
As a sphere was yet formed, water coming straight from every faucet of the room started combining with the shape I had just lifted.
I had lost control, yet again.
Dowling started to calm me down and seize what was done.
I felt drained after and found myself on the floor.
"Are you alright, dear?" She looks at me with flustered eyes. "I think that's all for today, you may proceed to your specialist class."
Believe it or not, I was quite excited for this entire day. But after what just happened, I couldn't stop to ponder what is wrong with me?
I get myself some gear before class starts. I take a sudden urge to check what time it is and there I saw Sky's bracelet, still in my bag. I couldn't take it out.
"Ugh!" I groan, in the midst of putting in my contact lenses to avoid the compulsion to others.
"You alright?" Sky shows up behind me, I could see him through the mirror.
"I'm fine, leave me alone," I tell him.
"I know what you did." He walks a little closer. "Your powers, I mean."
"Why would you-"
"Because I have no concern of you thanking me, thinking that I was kind enough to care for you that night," I say in a rush before he could even ask.
I intentionally bump his shoulder as I walked away.
"Are you afraid I take it differently?" Sky stops me before I could leave the room.
I halt but I didn't turn around to look at him. "Well, isn't different now?"
I then went out to the training field and somehow I felt concerned as I spotted Riven alone. I felt playful, I wanted to tease him.
Quite mischievous of me but hey, at least I'm being myself.
"Oh dear, look who's alone now." I sat beside him.
"Look, Yoritza, as much as I would love to beat you up right now, I'm not in the mood." Riven replies coldly. "Reasonably fortunate for you."
I hesitate before asking him."It's a girl, isn't it?"
"She's a ginge, they're all crazy." I laugh. "Says a very smart and high person I know."
He turns to me surprised. It was a private conversation between him and Sky. I had accidentally heard them while I was walking by. Well, I have enhanced senses, remember?
I point my ears to tell him I heard him through my powers.
