Long way from home

Chapter 25

May POV

"Pitch!" we all yell.

I could not believe that ice monster just steep on Pitch. Now we have to get it off of him. I just hope he is still alive, because if he isn't we'll a lot of explaining to Tula. I for one don't want to tell her anything bad.

"What are we suppose to do now?" beast boy asks.

"We need to get that things foot off of Pitch." night wing said.

"Ok that is easier said then done." lagoon boy said.

"Roar!" The ice monster yelled when it moved its foot off of Pitch.

Stella and I ran over to him while the rest of the team kept the thing distracted. Megan was up and ran over to help us.
We get to Pitch to find him lying on the ground out cold. Stella was getting some of the rocks that was on his leg. Megan and I was dragging him out of the way so he would not get steeped on again.

"Pitch, can you hear us?" Stella said once we got him to a safe spot.

We got no answer.

"Megan stay hear with him." Stella orders.

Megan just nodded. We went to help the team with the monster. I could tell they were having some trouble fighting it, and I wouldn't blame them for I would not know how to beat something like this. Well I would use phenix but I haven't been able to seance it at all. I really hope it is ok. I was right behind the ice monster when I see a knife in the back of its neck. Did Pitch put that there? That must be why it wanted to get rid of him first!

"I know what we have to do!" I said really loud.

"Well what do you propose?" Blue asks.

"There is a knife in the back of its neck, so if we can get it in deeper we might be able to win." I said.

They all get what I was meaning and all went for it. When one was behind it the other were distracting it so we could get the knife in. Beast boy was the first one to try the plan. We had to separate so it didn't know which one to attack.

"Hey! Ugly!" I yell.
It turns it head to me.
"No over hear!" Stella yells.
Now it is looking at her.
"Come and get me!" super boy yells.

We got it confused now. It doesn't know who to attack. I could tell it was getting really mad at this. Luckily beast boy got the knife in deeper.

"Roar!" It yells in pain as it turns around faster then I would have thought and grabbed beast boy by the tail.

He was thrown to the ground and we all new that we had to be careful from this point. We repeated this proses until we could no longer get to the knife. Which was now deep in the neck.

"What now?" bumblebee asks.

"Pitch what are you doing?!" Megan yells.

We all see Pitch limping over to the monster and his eyes were turning not black but a red black mix. They never said that hi eyes could do that. Unless he never did that before. Pitch was now in the air and the next thing we see is a black lightning bolt strike the knife that was deep in the neck. We all hear a nasty cracking sound. Then we saw the monsters head come right off, it lands with a thud.

Right after that we see Pitch falling out of the air, or sky what ever you want to call it but he was falling. Megan flew up and grabbed him before he hit the ground.

"Pitch are you ok?" Megan asks.

"Yea..." Pitch says.

I could see he was in pain.

"How did you know that would work." lagoon boy asks.

"I... didn't." Pitch coughed.

I saw some blood going down his lip. I know he is really not ok. He has bruises all over him and I'm still trying to figure out how he is not crushed, practically all of his bones should be crushed right now. We move on, but we are going much slower now. I wonder if he will be able to fight Winter and Marco when we get to them.
