Long way from home

Chapter 48

Tula POV

I was sitting in the recovery room. We was finally aloud to see Pitch, even though he was not awake at the moment. They got rid of the tube that was in his mouth, for they think he would be alright without it. Martian manhunter was in the room too, he was running some tests and checking something's.

"So." I said.

Manhunter looks at me, then back to his papers.

Beep beep beep!

I look at the screen and see that it was doing something different.

Beep beep beep!

"Is that suppose to happen?" I ask.

Manhunter looks at the screen too.

"No." Manhunter said.

Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, and the team came in for they must have heard the noise. They all looked worried.

Pitch then sits up as fast as the Flash can run. I nearly jumped out of my skin. Everyone was silent so I break the silent.

"Pitch?" I ask.

He turns his head to me.

"Y-you mind tel-ling me where I-I'm at." Pitch asks.

"Your in the recovery at mount justice." Superman said.

"Pitch lay down." Manhunter said.

Pitch did lay back down, but I saw that he was still in a little pain. He did not talk to us so everyone left only manhunter and I stayed.

"So what do you go by?" I ask.

Manhunter looks at me.

"Do you want me to keep calling you Martian Manhunter, or just Manhunter." I ask.

"You can call me John." he said.

"Ok." I said.

I can't seem to talk to him like the others. Wonder why that is, I can figure that out later. I noticed Pitch staring at me, or the painting behind me so I think of what to say.

"You should know that Winter wont be bothering us for some time." I said.

He just looks at me. John got what I was meaning and left the room.

"Pitch you've been out for almost a week, maybe over that." I said.

He still did not say anything.

"Pitch, we all have been worried that you would die. We are every happy to know that your ok." I said.

"Wh-what happened t-to W-Winter?" pitch ask.

"My father came yesterday and took her with him." I said.

"You d-didn't g-go with him." he asked.

"No, I couldn't." I said.

"Why n-not?" he ask.

"You were just recovering form what happened and I didn't want to leave with out know that you woke up or not." I said.

He just stared at the sealing. He didn't ask anymore questions. I fell sorry for him. In his inter life he went through so much pain that no one should go through.
He finally fell asleep so I got up and left the room.
