I never needed you [ON HOLD]

Chapter 4

Days and days went by for the Fairy Tail mages. all of them were wondering when their beloved blonde would come back...

"Lucy sweetheart, before you go back to Earthland" Layla began as she smiled at Jude before turning back to Lucy. "We have a little gift for you to take back with you"

"Oh?" Lucy said wondering what it was. judging by her parent's faces they seemed rather excited about whatever it was.

"Yes. Alula enjoyed having you around after so long and she would love for you to have this" Jude said as he presented her with her gift.

Lucy's eyes widened as the gift appeared in her father's hands.

"An egg!" lucy exclaimed as she carefully took it from him. The egg wasn't too big. in fact, it would fit perfectly in her bag. "Uh...what's in it?"

Layla laughed at her daughter's reaction. "That is for you to find out yourself my dear. Alula wanted it to be a surprise"

"Of course, she did" Lucy chuckled.

"Oh, I'm going to miss you so much, honey!" Layla cried as she pulled the girl in for a tight hug"

"Mama" Lucy giggled, "I will visit as soon as I can and I will always write to you guys"

"I know" she sniffed, "I've just gotten so used to you being here for so long again"

Lucy smiled warmly at them. she could feel the tears prick at the corner of her eyes, "I'm going to miss you guys too. And everyone else" Lucy said tearfully.

"And we shall miss you too my dear" Jude said as he pulled Lucy into a hug.

As soon as some of the girls heard that Lucy was coming back today they were extremely excited and awaited her return.

Lucy had been gone for almost 5 months on a mission that they found out she was on almost a month after she hadn't come to the guild for a while and they couldn't wait to see their blonde friend again and hear about her mission.

They also had questions.

Like what was going on between her and team Natsu and why she was no longer on the team. Why did she move house? Why did she not inform them that she was going on a mission and why did she not write to them or at least communicate through the communication lacrima?

"Think she found a man while she was away?" Cana snickered, "I bet that held her up a bit if she did"

"Cana it's only been a few months and she was on a mission. Not man-hunting" Levy replied. Cana shrugged.

"Meh. Anything could happen. Personally, I don't buy the fact that she's on a mission. I mean, does she really need to move out to do that?"

"Maybe she didn't want to have to come back and have to pay a mountain of money for rent when she got back" Lisanna suggested.

Cana shook her head, "I don't think so"

"I agree with Cana. I also find it rather strange" said Juvia

"Well, she will be here today. master said Lucy said that she should be here really soon"

Lucy was feeling excited as she skipped towards the guild. She smiled and waved at people as she went.

Of course, she also had a bittersweet feeling in her chest.

Sure she'd be happy to see her friends and show them how strong she really is, but part of her wasn't quite ready to see the team that she felt had betrayed and insulted her.

She shook her head.

She wouldn't give them the satisfaction that their words had affected her a bit.

As she skipped through the town she noticed a large poster on a bulletin board. She stopped to read it and almost scoffed.

'Fairy Tail's New and Improved Team Natsu has risen to be one of the strongest teams in all of Fiore'

Now that did hurt her. They really did think she was a weakness and burden to the team. They looked so happy together in the photo like they had no regrets whatsoever. Way happier than when she was with them.

She let out a sigh and continued to walk to the guild, not wanting to let the poster and other articles ruin her mood.

When she had finally arrived in front of the doors she stopped.

"You got this Lucy" she whispered to herself.

She placed her hand on the door but didn't push it as she realised something

It was quiet. Very quite. Fairy Tail isn't quite. Ever.

She silently opened the doors and slipped in only to notice that it was dark. That confused the blonde.

However that confusion was short-lived when the lights turned back on, confetti flew around her and her guildmates screamed "WELCOME BACK LUCY!!!" Panther Lilly and Happy we're flying, holding a banner saying 'Missed you'

She was surprised, to be honest. To their knowledge, she was just on a mission. Did they really miss her that much? They'd never done this for anyone else before. Well not while she's been at the guild at least.

That question was answered when her best girlfriends had all squished her in a hug

"H-hey guys!" She laughed as she tried to wrap her arms around them.

"Oh, how we missed you, Lucy!" Mira cried and pulled the blonde in for a tight bear hug.

"Yeah!" Said Levy. "We had no clue you had even left!"

"And you went alone! That hasn't happened!" Said Juvia

"Guys" lucky sweatdropped. "I will explain everything. Can I sit down though?"

The girls immediately let go of their blonde friend and made their way to the bar.

Unfortunately for Lucy though, three people were sitting next to her regular bar stool...
