Y/N POV
Me and Ricky have been together for a little over a week now and we're going on our first official date today! It also happens to be my birthday, Ricky thought it'd be a great idea to spend today together so it's extra special. We also decided to tell my dad about us when he comes to pick me up.I went to my closet and grabbed a black long sleeved shirt and a red and black plaid skirt. I changed, straightened and brushed my hair, and did my makeup. I put on my favorite necklace that had a silver heart. I decided to finally put my nose ring back in, it's been weeks since I wore it because my father didn't like it. It was just a simple black hoop. It felt great to have it back in, it made me feel a little more confident. I put on my black platforms and I was finally ready for the date.
When I walked into the living room I was shocked to see my father holding a small box wrapped in red wrapping paper.
"Here." He put the box on a table and looked at me.
"Dad you didn't have to-" Of course he wouldn't let me finish talking.
"I'm trying to be nice to you so don't give me that you didn't have to bullshit." He was always so angry about everything.
"Okay..well thank you." I unwrapped the box and then opened it. It was a hematite ring, I've wanted one of these for so long now. I looked up and smile at him. "Thank you dad, I love it." I put it on my ring finger.
"You're welcome. Why'd you get all dolled up? We aren't going anywhere." He gave me his annoyed look.
"Well there's actually something I wanted to tell you in a few mi-" The door bell rang before I could finish.
"I'll get it." My father said and walked to the door and opened it. I smiled when I saw Ricky in the doorway. He looked amazing. He had a black dress shirt, black dress pants, and black boots on.
"Hi sir, I'm Ricky." He reached his hand out to my father.
"James. Can I ask why your here?" He briefly shook his hand and then pulled back.
"Well, there's something that me and Y/N wanted to talk to you about." Ricky nervously smiled a bit.
"Dad you should probably sit down for this.." I didn't know how he would react. He's never really wanted me to be in a relationship. My father sat down in the lounge chair and Ricky and I sat on the sofa.
"So, me and your daughter are uhm.." He briefly cleared his throat so he didn't stumble of his words. "We're dating." My dad looked at him and looked at me. He repeated this for about a minute.
"You treat her good. You hear?" My father said in a very stern tone as he gave Ricky the death stare.
"Yes sir. I plan on taking a lot of care of her." Ricky put his arm around me and pulled me close. We both smiled. I loved when I was close to him like this, it always made me feel so safe.
"Good. Now go on your date or whatever, just please no children yet." We both blushed a bit.
"I promise we don't do that dad." He smiled slightly and me and Ricky walked out to his car. When we got to the car Ricky opened my door for me and went to the backseat and grabbed a bag. He closes the door and gets in the front.
"This is for you babe. Happy birthday." He smiles as he hands it to me.
"Aww thank you but you didn't have to." I smile as I reach into the bag.
"I know, but I wanted to." He watched me grab what was in the bag. I pulled out the first thing, it was the Graveyard Shift album from his band.
"No way! I love this album!" I start smiling a lot and reach for the second item, which was also the last thing in the bag. I pulled it out and it was a bracelet with skulls all round it. I put it on my wrist and stare at it.
"Do you like it?" Ricky said as he looks at me again.
"I LOVE IT! Thank you so much!" I tightly hugged him.
"You're welcome, I'm glad you like it." He returned the hug and then started driving again.
Once we get to the restaurant and sat down, at the same side of the booth, we looked over the menus. We both decided on the same thing again, except this time we both got pasta. The waitress came over to the table to get our order.
"So, have you lovebirds decided?" We both laughed a bit and gave her our order.
"Guess it's really obvious we're together, huh?" Ricky smiles and held my hand. I smiled back and firmly gripped his hand.
"I guess so, but I mean that's not a bad thing." I laid my head on his shoulder.
"You look beautiful today, yknow that?" He pushes some of my hair behind my ear, which makes me become a blushing mess.
"Aw thank you, you look really handsome." He grips my hand tighter. He looks down and me and smiles.
"Your eye looks like it's healing well." He pushed some hair out of my face.
"Yeah it feels a lot better and I don't look as hideous." I laughed a bit, even without the black eye I had a lot of self confidence issues.
"Babe, even with the black eye you're beautiful. Nothing will ever change how stunning you are." He looked kind of worried, he knew I don't have much confidence in myself and is doing everything he can to change that.
"Thanks" I smiled and buried my face in his neck.
After a while our food comes. We both made fun of each other any time some pasta would fall off our forks.
"Do you want me to teach you how to eat pasta? Looks like your struggling." Ricky laughs at what he said and wraps his arm around me.
"Oh shut up." I smile at him and go back to eating. After a while we go back to his car, he opens the door for me again. When we both got in I looked at him and grabbed his hand.
"You know you didn't have to get me anything or take me out to dinner, right?" I stared into his beautiful blue eyes.
"I know, but it's your birthday, I wanted it to be special. I mean after all, you only turn 18 once." He smiles and kisses me on the cheek. "I love you"
"I love you too." He starts driving towards my house, but keeps one hand on the steering wheel and the other in mine. This was the best birthday I've ever had. I got to spend part of it with the only one who can truly make me happy.
