As soon as my alarm began to ring, I didn't hesitate to get up. Although my eyes were still halfway shut, I forced myself to my bathroom.
I nearly fall over a few books that were scattered by the corner of my bed, using the wall to catch myself. I don't let my clutter ruin my determination to get in the shower. Ugh, I really need to get a shelf for all these books. When I finish my shower, I can't help but think how happy I am that Monday finally came.
Okay, I'm not usually the type to look forward to school. But I just wanted to get away from my family for a few hours. They treated me like I was a criminal, I guess they never really caught me in a lie before.
I throw my clothes on after blow drying and combing my hair.
I made my way to the kitchen, where my dad was."Phone" I said, but it sounded more like a question.
He quickly nodded before reaching into his pocket and placing it in my hand. What was it doing in his pocket? Whatever as long as i had it back.
"Thanks," I said, "I'm taking the bus to school in case you were wondering."
My dad had a look of satisfaction because Danny usually picked me up in the mornings. My mom had the complete opposite expression, she looked concerned and caring.
"Maybe I can drive you," my mom offered.
I laughed, my mom can be so sweet sometimes, "no you'll be late to work," I reasoned.
"I'm sure my boss will understand," she said, with a glimpse of doubt.
I shook my head, "it's okay, I should get going."
We said our goodbyes and I was out the door. Shortly after I left, I had this feeling that I was being watched. It must be my dad, he's probably making sure that I walk in the direction of the bus stop, which I did.
I continued walking straight when I saw the car again, Ryan's car. Or maybe just another car.. I decided to stop this time and study the car. I glanced in the window, seeing if I could remember anything. Nothing stood out to me, nothing at all.
Before I could regain my posture I felt a presence behind me, or maybe it was just me being paranoid again.
"Looking for something?," A voice asked from behind me, causing me to jump a little. I didn't bother to turn to see who it was, Ryan had a very distinct voice.
"I .. I'm... Just looking at my reflection... Why is that your car?," I flustered my words before trying to come up with a lie.
"Mhm... But my windows don't give off much reflection," he said tilting his head with a slight smirk.
I glanced at his window, he was right and I was wrong... "Well, anyways I have to get to school."
He nodded while checking his watch.
"Alright I'll see you later," he responded, with a wink.
I was just about to leave then decided to respond, "listen.. We can't hang out anymore, because I'm in a relationship already."
A look of anger came over his face.
I decide it was best I leave, and avoid him as much as I could. I didn't want to be seen with him, or the rumors would start in my school.
I turned , quickly and quietly walking to the bus stop. I managed to catch the bus and get to school just in time.
The rest of the day went by quickly, just like any other day. Once I finished all my school work, I decided to walk to the market and bring a few groceries.
I'm not the type to go grocery shopping, especially at 8pm, but I needed some fresh air.
