Sometimes you don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory

Growing up, I have always wanted to be a nurse. People always tell me, "Isn't nursing hard, though?" yes, it may be challenging. Still, it's worth every penny seeing the children's faces light up whenever you tell them that they will be okay and that they could go home. Yes, there will be bad days, but we can't permanently save them no matter how hard we try because, in the end, we did what we could do. It's just part of the job. As I prepare myself for all the studying and the late-night coffee runs, I know everything will be worth it in the end. Either way, I am so prepared, well at least I think I am.

As my mom told me, "Dreams don't work unless you take action to it." She was right about that, but my dream is barely coming true. But with time and patience, I'll be a nurse in no time, helping people and whatnot.

I made my way to my apartment complex shared with my twin sister and two friends. My sister is my built-in best friend, she is straight-up blunt and sassy, but that's what I love about her. Our two other friends, Olivia and Amelia, are some of the most kindhearted girls you will ever meet. But when you're on their bad side, it never ends well. I should know; I've been there.

Halfway through my walk, I realized that I was in much need of coffee. I saw a little café called Lee's Coffee Shop from a distance. It must be new because I haven't seen it before. When I walked in, I instantly smelt the aroma of coffee filling my nose. Inside there was a lot of vintage furniture that had a bit of rust to it. I think the rust complimented the place beautifully. There were a few bean bags and many throw pillows towards the corner. Wonder if the workers have pillow fights with each other while working.

Rushing up to the cashier, I had ordered myself an iced caramel macchiato. As I pulled out my wallet to get my card, someone already beat me to it.

"Here, take this card." Said a thick southern accent. I don't mean to sound rude, but I like paying independently. The cashier just smiled and took the man's card, traitor. I turned around to see the culprit who had paid for my drink. Oh, my freaking gosh, it's Andrew fucking Williams.

"Excuse me. Down here yea, hi." I said with annoyance. He looked me up and down, perv. "I appreciate you buying my drink and all, but- "he cut me off saying. "Your drink? I just paid for them; therefore, this drink is mine, by darlin'," said the jerk. I stood their mouth open. Did he call me darlin'? Oh hell no, as I was about to sprint off running to catch up, he was nowhere in sight. Fantastic.

I was rushing to the apartment with a new drink in my hand that I bought with MY own money. I made it up to my apartment and busted open the door. Not really break through the door. I more so walked through the door but busted sounds nice. I found all the girls snuggled up on the couch watching cars. Cars is such a good movie. I don't care what anyone says. It's the best movie in the history of movies.

"Girls, you won't believe what had happened," I said with some annoyance. I started explaining, start to finish. "Honey, what did you expect? He did pay for the drinks, and like my momma always says, if they pay for it, it's theirs," said Olivia. We all looked at her like she had two heads. "Yes, that may be true, but Tatum also got those drinks first, plus she was about to pay for them. What do you think, Em?" said Amelia as she sipped on her drink. By the looks on Emma's face, we knew she wasn't exactly paying attention. "Wait, Andrew Williams thee Andrew Williams paid for your drink? Woah" said a flabbergasted Emma. Ladies and gentlemen, my sister, everyone. "Ugh, yes, it was thee Andrew Williams, and yes he paid for my coffee and gosh, I just want to punch his gorgeous face, dammit!" I exclaimed. Fudge nuggets I am so frustrated and mad that he could walk away. The girls looked at me in shock because of my outburst. I am not the outburst kind of girl. I am more laid back and chilled, scratch that I am quiet, but I am loud with the right people.

"Can we please change the subject? I don't want to think or even talk to that jerk?" I said with a huff plopping on the couch. "Well, girls, I have exciting news. Ryan had invited me to a party and said that we are all invited!" said Emma. It took a while for the girls to convince me to go. Eventually, I said yes only because I felt like letting loose tonight. Gosh, I need a darn drink. I am not one for drinking, but it's for reasons I end up drinking.

A little background information, Emma is dating Ryan Miller, aka my future brother-in-law, and both Olivia, Amelia, and I are single.

Emma met Ryan in their junior year of high school and is still together. The party came faster than expected. We all looked hot; everyone had their neon bracelets, so it's a little easier to find everyone. Ladies, make sure you wear neon or anything bright so you can stand out for your friends.

"Alright, you losers, who is going to be the designated driver tonight?" said Emma. "I was dd last week," I said as I was finishing up my makeup. "Alright, so it's up to Olivia and Amelia," said Emma.

"I have a chemistry test in two days, so I am going to need all the studying I can get so I'll be the dd.," said Olivia. Before any party, we make sure we take a shot of Jack Daniels. We all have been doing this since our freshmen year of high school.

After taking a couple of shots, we were ready to go. We finally pulled up to the place; we scrambled out of the car after getting lectured by Olivia for being safe and blah blah blah. We all dashed into the house and broke away from each other. Emma went to find Ryan, Olivia went and mingled in the crowd, and Amelia went and did God knows what. At the same time, I went to get myself a drink.

I believe I was seven shots in towards the night. I was on my way to the kitchen to grab another drink before someone stopped me. "Sweetheart, I think you had enough to drink." Whispered someone. Hey, I think I know that person. I looked up, facing an upset Andrew. Oh no, I think I might be in trouble. "Ohh hey Buddy, I was just you know- "I said as I fell, oh shiz balls. I thought I was going to pummel to my death, but strong arms caught me. Woah, Andrew works out a lot. I looked up sheepishly at him.

With an amused smile, he said, "You have to be more careful darling, we don't want you hurting that pretty little face of yours." Did he call me pretty? Someone pinch me. I felt someone pinch me. "Ouch, what was that for, jerk?" I said with a tone. Solon just looked at me and laughed. Damn, he has a nice laugh.

"Well, you said, "someone pinch me," and that's exactly what I did," he said with a chuckle. "well, that hurt you butt-hole," I said with a smile.

We both looked at each other and laughed. After a few minutes, I got bored just standing there, so I pulled him out on the dance floor with me. He resisted until I kept pulling, and that's when he started following me.

I started swaying to the beat of the music, and I felt his hands go to my waist. I turned to face him and said, "Paws off, mister" before I knew it, my vision started getting a little hazy. Did someone spike my drink, or did I drink too much? With those being my last thoughts, all I remember are looking into those brown eyes.
