Dan was snoring away on the couch, exhausted from the eventful day yesterday. His two friends started dating, he got destroyed in corn hole and is still definitely in love with Corey, even though he tries to convince himself he's not. Wouldn't you be exhausted?
While he was sleeping, however, he felt something warm touch his shoulder. At first, he thought it was a twitch, but it then happened again. Dan slowly opened his eyes to see Corey standing in front of him, his eyes watery, and his hair a mess. Dan stands up and looks at him with concern.
"Hey buddy, are you okay?" He whispered, concerned for his friend.
"It....it happened again." He said quietly, sniffling.
Rather than letting Corey run away this time, Dan got up from the couch in a swift motion...
And hugged him.
Corey was startled at first, but Dan was not letting him get away, Dan had one arm under Corey's arm, and the other arm over his shoulder. Corey eventually relaxed and hugged back, digging his face into his shoulder. "It's okay, I've got you," Dan whispered.
Corey didn't say anything but continued to hug him. Eventually, Dan let go and sat him down on the couch. Corey wiped his face and didn't make eye contact, as much as Dan wanted him to. "Do you wanna talk about it?...this time?" Dan asked, concern laced in his voice.
Corey looked up at Dan with his bright blue eyes and nodded. "....you won't hate me will you?" He said his voice breaking.
"Of course not." Dan said, patting his back.
"Well...." Corey started but threatened to get up.
Dan grabbed his arm gently and set him back down, looking him in the eyes. "It's okay. It stays between us."
Corey looks down again. "....would you-um...hate me if...."
Dan nodded again, feeling Corey's warmth, still holding onto his arm.
"...if I was gay?"
Dan gently placed his hand on his chin and lifted his face to his. "Of course not. Dan replied gently.
Corey smiled at him weakly, before the tears begin to fall. "Well, my mom did."
Dan looks at him with concern, his hand still on his arm. "I would never hate you. You are the sweetest person I've ever met." Dan stated, making Corey look down, smiling.
"Thank you so much."
"Of course. You can continue with your dream if you are okay with it." Dan said calmly.

SUICIDAL THOUGHTS"Well....when I was little I always knew. I never liked the girls. I was always chasing the boys. One day, my mom....she uh- she found out I was "dating" some boy. She called me a bunch of names. Like uh, faggot. And other stuff. She ended up beating the hell out of me and leaving me on the side of the road...."
Dan moved his hand and put his arm around Corey, pulling him into a side hug. Corey continued.
"...My grandma found me and took care of me until she died when I was 19... I had been on the run since and only recently did I find my footing. I was depressed about it for a while and almost considered ending it. The pain was too much...."
"...I'm sorry. I can't." Corey finished off, trying to get up.
End of segment :)
Before Corey could leave, Dan grabbed his arm again and pulled him back."Let me at least walk to bed."
Corey nodded and stayed close to Dan, bumping into him occasionally which set off Dan's heart. As they entered Corey's room, Dan sat him down and laid down next to him on the bed. Corey turned his back away from Dan as his eyes began to close. Dan hugged him from behind and whispered in his ear. "I'm always here. For anything."
Corey's face lit into a smile, and Dan got out of the bed, tucking him in. He moved to the other side of the bed and hunched down, looking at Corey's big eyes. Corey smiled at him, and Dan gave his cheek a little tug, which made him Corey smile.
"Goodnight." Dan said, before leaving the room.
Corey's smile stayed stuck on his face before he drifted off to sleep. Dan walked back downstairs and laid down, before drifting off to sleep.
Please message me for anything. I am always here.
