Will the past alter the lives of those around us? Or will we choose to live the day as itself.
Bounty Hunters Dime
The raging winds around the tavern never felt so quiet as the Dragonborn sank down in her seat."Another round!" She wailed on again, tapping her talons against the cracked wood bar table.
"Try for once not showing your half form
in 'ere, just have some modesty and cover yourself or y'a gonna scare off ma crowd!" The orc behind the bar shouted at the half intoxicated dragon as he wiped the brim of a glass with an overused rag."Damn Grahny what's up your ass today" she guffaws as she wills her talons, wings and tail to retract towards her fully armored figure. She patted her shoulder, almost as if she was welcoming back her now fully human-like form.
"Not like I'm flashin' ma ninety foot tall dragon form in 'ere and wrecking yer place aye?" She giggled nudging a bewildered stranger seated next to her with her elbow.
"I think y'a need a job three legs" The orc called Grahny scoffed arranging the mugs into perfect lines. For such huge hands, it was impressive to say the least. The dragon rolled her eyes at the nick-name slamming her glass down in front of him shaking the table.
"Enough with the nick-names," she groaned spinning around on her stool landing her boots on the creaky tavern floor. "-Plus it'd be four, countin' ma tail that is" she laughed swaying up to the billboard of wanted posters and pamphlets tacked down.
"Hmm- three bandit Satyrs, deadly water Nymphs, four- bla bla bla! This all sucks!" She whined turning back to the Orc.
"Nothing good aye?" He chuckled filling a glass with fine brandy and passing it off to a nearby recipient. The dragon made her way back over to the bar slumping over the front of it as she rested her chin in her palm.
"Something will come up, something with some Elves aye? But you will need to be more patient, though you are climbing up the ranks rather hastily." He nudged traveling his eyes to her gold pendant dangling around her neck.
"Copper, silver, gold, diamond, ruby- whatever it's all meaningless if I don't get to meet those elves!" She bellowed out, flushing the whole bar silent for a moment.
"Still keen on that goal huh? three legs?"
"-four" the dragon murmured as Grahny sighed with a smile. "And yes, I'll have you know I'm never giving up on it."
"I guess if you are determined enough, it's worthwhile in this shit hole. But I wouldn't expect to see any elves here, too low class for them I guess. But I love ma taven, she's holdin' up." He smiled patting the bar table rippling nearby drinks.
"Hehe- yeah like, they're missin' out! Plus their pointy ears couldn't fit through the door-"
"Speak of the gods-" Grahny interrupted as his gaze lifted past the dragons shoulder.
"Huh-" the Dragonborn clumsily swiveled around to follow Grahny fixated gaze to a tall, raven haired, snow tinted... elf? Her jaw dropped to the floor, "no- her ears are far too short to be an elf. But it's definitely, elfish?" She pondered to herself.
"Well spike of a tail, good timing" The Orc laughed lifting his gaze back to the mugs.
"You think it's really an elf?" The dragon asked locking her eyes on the idle elf standing in the middle of the tavern.
