Bond of Unspoken Hatred

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐰𝐨

Blood of a warrior shall never ripen until its  picked from its sorrowful tree.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝗴 𝐮𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫
     "Ugh... are we there yet!" Addison groaned dangling her hands by her side; dragging her boots along the muddy ground.

"Almost- wait didn't you say you've been here many times?" Ievis queried narrowing his eyes in annoyance and confusion as he continued to strut along with a perfect rigid form, hands behind his back looped together.

"I mean I guess but.. never felt this long- or cold" she shuddered rubbing her arms, pulling out a black wool hooded cloak, being careful to not disturb the rabbit still resting in the bag. As she tossed it over her shoulders and head she gazed along the seemingly endless trees. The air felt so damp, that condensation could build up on their faces after a minutes walk. Fog began to gradually build up more and more the deeper they went. The sound of small insects chirping, occasional crows cries, and their own wet footsteps were the only thing now that filled the eerie ambiance.

"So.. where exactly was the bounty said to be?" The dragon asked gripping onto the straps of her bag tighter, a fine layer of sweat beginning to built up along the rim of her hands from her nervous grasp.

"It said not far off the biggest oak near the path- so we should be seeing an oak tree soon." He said in an assured tone, the surroundings not quiet bothering him as much. "When should we get to flying-"

"SHIT!-" shrieked the dragon as she plunged onto Ievis knocking him into the hollowed out remains of a rotten tree.

"What the hell was that!" He yelled before his gaze fell short on a giant endless lake ahead that fell right in front of the road to a complete drop. Though with closer inspection through his still shaky eyes he saw the lake was making in an abnormal way. It's tides overlapped each other like a woven basket, though instead it never stopped moving.
