Chapter 4: where are we?

I felt a cold breeze move over my body, my light brown hair moved with the wind. My eyes began to flutter open and all i could see was an endless amount of brown land in front of me. My heart began to race. I slowly got up.

I screamed

MOM!

no one answered . I screamed again

MO-M!!

A tear streamed down my face , i slowly fell to the ground with my knees to my head. i tried to contain myself..

I opened my eyes slightly,bright green eyes peered out from behind a bush across from me.

ETHAN?

Was it him? where were we?

I said to myself.

He rose up and began walking toward me i could see blood through the sleeve of his shirt. He started running towards me, he grabbed me by the waist and held me. I was startled. his arm was bleeding a lot. I pulled up his arm and wrapped it with a piece of my shirt i had ripped off.

"What are you doing?"

"Helping you" i said

Dont worry im fine he said while clinching his eyes shut, as i tied the peice of material tighter.

"What happened?"

I looked around.there was nothing. absolutely nothing. where was my mom! Where was Tara . I started to cry .. i realized that the rocket had crashed.. And so far only me and ethan were the survivors. But where were we? This wasnt mars. It was almost earthlike. Trees and brown dirt filled the scenery. Ethan grapped my hand and we slowly started scanning the area. Calling out names but no one answered.

"What are we going to do?"

I cried

"Don't worry everything will be fine" he said as he pushed the hair out of my face. We continued to scan the area. Suddenly we heard a quite voice through the bush. We walked through the small opening in the trees near by. It was Tara. I ran through the trees and grabbed her hand.

TAR-A!!! I screamed

ELLA! She replied back

Are you alright?

Yeah I'm fine.

Ethan just quietly waited behind me.

"glad your alright" he said shyly.

He never really talked to tara before, so he was quiet an kept to himself the whole time. We began to walk out of the forest giving up our search for survivors because we new there wasn't anymore...

"We should look for a place to say the night "

said Tara. I looked up at the sky realizing that night took over, i gave a slight nod. We slowly walked searching for a suitable spot to settle down on. I felt bad for Ethan he just walked quietly behind Tara and I. He first came off as more of a cocky guy but now he didn't.

"Here"

Tara pointed to a clearing with a large slanted tree into it. We walked into the clearing and sat down on the tree trunk that pertruted into the space. It was quite for a good five minutes. we all stared at each-other and back at the scenery. We all knew we should go to sleep and then figure things out tomorrow when we could see properly.

I laid down on the hard,dirty ground. Tara beside me and Ethan at our feet. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
