sorry this is just a short chapter but i will begin to write chaper 13 as soon as it's published

Stood in a circular clearing deep in the forest, the five of us stand, me and sam facing eachother, the wolves surrounding us.

"being near your element and other wolves will help give you power. You also draw power from eachother," he explains

Lighting a small fire next to sam, he asks him to kneel down to it and concentrate on the fire and only the fire.

"the way it moves, the energy of the fire." he persists. Sam looks at me, like the man is crazy or something. I would agree but after the previous events of today i'm pretty sure i'm crazy myself.

"Now you," he says, pointing at me. "Put your hands into the dirt. And do the same."

I kneel, placing my hands in the soil, feeling throught it, smell the earthness of it, and everything falls silent. Even the birds stop singing. All i can think about is the earth, life, rocks, the way it's solid and beautiful.

"Now, he says, control all of your feeling for your element into your hands" the man whispers huskily.

I try and move the ball of energy from my chest, i visualise it as n orb of green light and try to mentally melt it into my bloodstream in order to move it down my arms. It slits equally, collecting in the palms of my hands, invisible to anyone but me, even though my eyes are closed.

"Now move your hands, but imagine that your element is attacked to them by cords."

Still keeping my eyes closed, i pull my hand up, slowly, standing up as i do so, and as i open my eyes, a thick vine came out of the earth, soil coating my hands, I feel so strong i could hold the sky up, i thought.

My fists are clenched, my mouth half twistedinto a smile half bitten between my teeth.

My eyes are glowing green, casting an emerald glow onto my surroundings. I looked at sam, who was the same, his hands burning with fire instead of soil, his eyes a burning autumn leaf scarlet, even his hair seemed to be rippling with embers. He was also grinning.

Moving his hand infront of him, a trail of fire blared through the air, and he opened his hand, shooting out fire at a tree.

"SAM!" I scream, thrusting a pile of dirt onto the flames with my own powers.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU'LL SET THE WHOLE FOREST ON FIRE!"

"Um yeah, sorry", he said, rubbing the back of his neck guiltily, the fire extinguishing from both his hands and the poor tree. The soil and rocks floating around my hands had fallen to the ground, the vine shrank back into the earth.

Dad and linda were staring with their mouths open.

I felt alive and so did sam. We ran into the forest together, laughing.
