Chapter 11

We are sitting in the hut, around the table, the man and i seated on the chairs, and the others standing.Sam has his hands on my shoulders, and his presence reassures me. But his hands are burning hot. i would have guessed a fever, but he's not sweating. he seems to radiate heat outwards and he smells like woodsmoke.

He sits opposite me. The man with deep set, watery eyes and furrows running across his forehead." I have been looking for you for so long..." He says in wonder, not appearing to be adressing any of us in particular.

I pipe up."Um, about that, how have you been looking for us for 65 years? wouldnt that mean you have been looking for us since you were like ten?

Now in focus, the mans eyes seem fixed on me. "I was 10 way before 65 years ago, earth. I was given immortality to find and train you."

"W-what?" sam shouts, digging his hand deeper into his hair. he seems really stressed.
"Every time the elemental wolf guardians die, someone is selected and given the task to search for them. It is an honor, many want this position,and so immortality is given to allow them time to find them.This person is the only one who can fully unlock their powers by training them and releasing their full potential.Once all four elemental's powers have been unlocked, the selected one begins to age nomally. I am that person, young ones."

Sams eyebrows furrowed. "So what makes us so important? I mean, their must be a reason to make a whole other person immortal and all just because of four people"

The old man sighed, and seemingly rolled his eyes, as if he had been over this a thousand times.
"You are guardians of the earth, protectors of humans, preventing all evil supernaturals from doing harm to humankind.These four elementals are special, even among those who are special, the changers, the werewolves, whatever you want to call the ilk of a man and a wolf bound by magic."

I looked at sam, he seemed just as confused as to why this man would not just say "you are special werewolves."
