After making a few turns, we started going in the opposite direction from the city where I recalled led to more farmland and rural area. He lived in a more secluded area, which I guessed made sense since he didn't seem to be the most law-abiding citizen.

"Why do you live out here?" I asked. I wanted to know the actual reason behind it rather than just assuming.

"I like the quietness of it. I'm not really a city person. It's also easier to make my little potion out here rather than in a stuffy apartment or townhouse."

I looked out the window on my side as he spoke and watched the fields go by. It seemed like it would be nice to live there for a little bit, but eventually, it must've gotten lonely.

"Do you live alone?"

"I don't live with any people if that's what you mean."

I turned to face him, confused my what he meant by that. He took his eyes away from the road to briefly look at me and smiled before turning back. "I have three cats. I also wanted to own some cows, but I don't have any yet."

"Oh. You want cows?"

"Yeah. Just a few, not a lot. I don't want to run a farm or anything, but I would like to have some with me. If I were able to, I would get dairy cows. I don't want to have to kill them, so I don't want to get steer. It might seem like a lot of work to take care of them, but it would give me something to do. Then I could also make a little bit of extra money selling the dairy."

"You've thought about this a lot, haven't you?"

"Yeah, I mean, you have to think about these things if you genuinely want them. It would be really dumb if you got them on impulse, and then you're stuck with a herd of cows."

"Yeah, that makes sense," I laughed. It was comfortable to talk with Minho alone. I enjoyed the conversation that we were having. It was a lot nicer than the one we had with Changbin earlier. I would much rather talk about owning cows on accident than killing someone. "I like cows. They're cute," I said randomly. I didn't mean to say it out loud, it was supposed to just be a thought in my head, but it slipped out. I tried not to show a reaction to my mistake, but I was dying on the inside.

I could hear Minho breathe out a small chuckle. "Yes. Yes, they are very cute."

The rest of the ride to his house was done in a comfortable lingering silence. It didn't take much longer to get there, and it turned out that one of the lengthiest parts was actually driving up to the house itself rather than to the property. He had a long driveway so that his house was hidden from the main roads. The only way you would know there was ever a building there was if you drove up the driveway. I hadn't been to many houses like that, so it was exciting and fun to see.

He parked the car in front of the house, which was a small cabin-like house. It looked like it was built out of mostly wood with some brick on parts of the side. It was gorgeous. With the trees that surrounded the area, it must've had a fantastic view at night. If it were possible to ever see it in the dark, I would've loved to.

After marveling at the beauty of Minho's property, I opened the door of the car and got out, following him to the door. I was still staring at the house as I walked, and he seemed to notice.

"Do you like it?" He asked with a smile on his face. Clearly, he was proud of his house.

"It's so pretty! Oh my God. You live here?"

"Yeah," he laughed as he opened the front door to walk inside. As soon as the door was opened, we were greeted by the cats mentioned earlier. One of them was meowing extremely loud, making up for the lack of noise coming from the other two.

Minho scooted his way in, passing them so that I was able to enter. I shut the door behind me so that they wouldn't get out. When I turned back to face inside the house, Minho was bent over and petting the three needy cats. I took the time to look around the house and saw what it looked like on the inside.

The walls and floors were all wooden, along with the shelves that lined the corners of the walls. There was a small fireplace against the wall adjacent to the front door. Of course, it wasn't lit, so it was dark inside. There were two rugs in the living room, a large fur one in front of the black leather sofa and a small towel-like rug closer to the front door with three food bowls, assumably for the cats. The shelves were filled with various books and a few small ceramic knick-knacks at the end. It was a very cozy home. It wasn't at all what I was expecting from Minho.

Minho groaned as he brought himself back up to stand. "You can stay here and play with the cats while I go get what I need to, okay?"

I nodded, and he walked off into a hallway. I looked down at the cats who were staring back at me. They didn't seem to be curious like I thought they would. I crouched down at first to play with them but eventually just ended up sitting and letting them walk over my legs.

The gray cat ended sitting in between my legs with its eyes closed as I scratched its head. The other two quickly got jealous and started to play with my other hand that wasn't doing anything. One of them brought their head down to my hand and then lifted it so that I was also petting them. They were pretty funny and very needy.
