CHAPTER 4: Stick And Stones

I mustered up courage and opened my eyes starring before me was a set of razor sharp knives. Had that old man been any late I would have uhh... You get what I mean.

"Are you okay kiddo?" Father Earl asked

"Well considering the fact that I almost had my watermelon pierced by eight inches knives, am doing great"

"You didn't ask for help until you were almost killed"

"Well that might be because I thought you would lend me a hand after seeing me been tossed like a baseball halfway through the kitchen" I said in defence. Seriously that old man can be something else he was really expecting me to send out an S.O.S while I was been that poltergeist swinging buddy.

"Well the Bible says ask and you shall you be given" He said.

" I should ask... I should ask??"

"Okay well sorry I couldn't ask because I was been thrown around, and before I could recover went another lap of "toss the kid". I said angered as I stood up and dust my self up, scowling as i breathed heavily like I just ran a marathon

"You see here is where you made a misconception, unless you are a powerful priest like yours truly, you have to bind a spirit before you expell it or else you might just witness " Toss the Kid Season 2". Father Earl said with a satisfied tone and for some reason that annoyed me even more.

"O- okay, got it" I replied trying to ignore that annoying smile he had on.

"You can free it now"

"Lose" Father Earl said.

And then the poltergeist screeched in anger.

"In his name you are bound" I bound it before it could have another session of "Toss the kid".

And then without wasting any precious second I stretched forth the cross in my right hand and pointed it to it (I don't know if I should call the poltergeist a him or an it... But I'm going to stick to it).

" Accept their poor soul into your kingdom" as I began saying the prayer it shrieked so loud i could feel the sound.

"Lend it the strength to pass through the veil and rest eternally" I concluded the prayer and with that the poltergeist became silent as it pieces shredded apart slowing in a glow and floated high blissfully. It wasn't like it was in pain or anything it looked more like it was glad to finally rest eternally and deep down within me I felt glad.

"Good work, it wasn't so hard after all" Father said. I was so focused on the ascending poltergeist glowing fragments that I totally forgot that Father was in the room as well.

"Yeah it wasn't so difficult, although my back feels like crap" I groaned as I held my waist and do some little stretches.

"All clear you can come in now" father Earl said as he approached the door.

"Is it gone?, will I ever see it again?. Bervely demanded as she opened the door and towards father.

" Yes it's gone." He assured her as he lead her to the kitchen.

"What in utopias name happened here, I thought you were going to expell it... I didn't expect a royal rumble" she let out in shock as she saw the sorry state If her kitchen.

"Lady this things don't go out easily, you're actually kind of fortunate, I've meet one that turned a house upside down and I mean literally" Father testified.

"O- okay, I was a little shocked that's all, how can I repay you?" Mrs.Bervely demanded.

"Ohh... You don't need to, it's what we do"

"Okay thanks a lot" She said as she chaperoned us to the door.

"Take care and be nice to others... Hahaha" Farther Earl said with a laugh so contagious I almost caught it.

He unlocked the door to the car and we both got in.

"Put on your seat belt young man"

"Do I need to?"

"No you don't, you could just get down and walked back to the chapel".

I looked at old man Earl his was smiling but his eyes was dead serious, I was certain I would get kicked out of the car and there's no way I was down for a 3 hours walk back to the chapel.. Ohh No No No, not after I was tossed around like that so I gently put on the seat belt and we drove off.

It was roughly a one hour thirty minutes ride back to the chapel. We got down from the car and there was a small crowd gathered in front of the cathedral, we both looked at our selves trying to figure out what was happening.

" Don't look at me we don't have masses today". Father Earl said just as if he was reading my mind. Just then we saw a Nun running towards us.

"Father Earl am so glad you're back" The nun said.

"Ohh sister Hannah what's going on here"

"Well, a lady brought in a possessed kid and we tried exorcising it from the young lady but my didn't end well she broke Father Damien hands and sister peace and Ruth legs"

"That's really bad" Father Earl said.

"But why the crowd it's not like this is the first time an exorcism is been held here?"

"Well that's because she caused quite an uproar while coming here"

"She kept yelling 'I want to see that Earl of a scum"Sister Hannah said

"Ohh and she said she was Lilith". Sister Hannah added.

My eyes spread out wide with surprise and I almost felt my mouth touch the ground after hearing that name. I'd read a lot about Lilith she was one of the first demons to be formed, She's also known as the princess of Hell. I turned to look at old man Earl expecting him to be as surprised as I was but instead he looked calm and relaxed.

" Lilith.. Hmmm she broke a priest hand and two sisters legs so she's definitely not a sham". Father Earl suggested as he fished out his large cross from his robes pocket.

"I was already getting tired of cleansing little entities" Father Earl said with a calm smile written on his face as he walked towards the chapel doors and opened them.
