Love is Blind.

Daddy, are you dying?

As Alyssa and Tom got in the car she turned to him and said; "I will always love you."

"Aw, I love you to. Hey while you drive I'm going to call them and let them know we are on our way."

"Ok."

When Richards mother and father arrived at the babysitters house, they found cute little five year old Richard staring through the window as if he was watching out for the two of them.

"Aw, baby look at him." Alyssa said.

"Yah I see him, what's he doing with his face against the glass?"

"Hun, He was waiting for us."

"Oh I knew that. Babe, you wait here and I will go and get him."

She simply replied with a nod of agreement.

As Tom walked in, Richard came out crying tears of joy all at the same time screaming; "Daddies alive daddies alive! Yay daddies alive!" The baby sitter followed him trying to catch him because she thought he was trying to run away.

"Hey come back!" She screamed, running until she found herself standing in front of his mom.

"It's ok he is with me." Tom said with a friendly smile.

"Come on Richard it's time to go home and eat super."

"Yay!" Richard replied jumping up and down.

They left the babysitter's house and went on their way back home, but on their way back home they had to stop at a stop light.

"babey watch out the light is red."

"I know Tom, I see it, don't worry."

They came to a slow soft stop at the red light.

But a truck came from behind their car and accidently rammed into the back of the car. Richard began to cry because he had been so shocked with the sudden fender bender.

Looking back at the five year old child's tears roll down his face, Tom became very upset.

He leaped out of the car and knocked on the trucks window.

"Hey you! Yah you! Get out of the truck I gotta bone to pick with you!"

The stranger in the truck rolled down his tented windows and to Tom's surprise, was glaring at him as if he was greatly endangered with Tom. But he didn't care he began screaming at the man and telling him how he was so ignorant and stupid for hitting the back of the car.

He said "Hey! My son is in the back of that car and you hit it! What would have happened if you have hit him? How would you have felt? To have children's blood on your hands!?" The man stepped out of his truck and said; " Sir I'm really terribly sorry bout what I did but you comin in here and screamin at me is completely unnecessary. "

Tom pushes the man against his truck and screamed; "I don't care if it's unnecessary My child is in that car!"

Just then Alyssa came out and got between the two of them.

"Tom calm down. This isn't something you should lose your head over!"

Tom pushes Alyssa out of the way and says; "Sir you owe my whole family an apology."

The man replies with a mocking; " Well, Sir im goin ta have to ask ya to get back in yur little car back there and head back to where you came from because I have a gun and I aint gonna think twice."

Tom said "I don't care if you have a gun or a bomb I'm going to have to ask for your apology!"

Alyssa stepped in again and said; "Sir I am so sorry about this I don't know what has gotten in to him we will be on our way now. And tom why are you acting like this? This is such a small issue and pointless at that, he said he was sorry and you're asking him for another apology? Get in the car."

Tom then saw the man digging around in his truck finally pulling out a revolver. Enraged he pushed Alyssa to the ground and grabbed the six foot man by his collar.

       He gave tom a small mischievous grin as he set the gun against his body and said; "I told you I wasn't gonna think twice." And pulled the trigger. Almost thirty seconds passed by before any words were spoken. The silence was haunting to the man. Tom held his torso silently not screaming as if he didn't feel it. His hand dripping with blood. His face turning pale. A single tear rolled down his face. And he fell to the ground in pain. He began to scream in the pain. He didn't scream in anger. But in pain.

       Alyssa began to scream and cry. Her face was red and filled with anger. She was enraged with the murderer. The man looked at her, and then at his gun. A tear ran down his face as well. Five year old Richard had seen the whole argument between the three adults. He cried deeply and loudly as he watched his only father die in front of him.

       The man pointed the gun at Alyssa and said; "I won't shoot you if you let me go."

She looked at him. And then Tom, then finally Richard. She heard tom try to tell her to let him go. That she had to be alive, she had to be with Richard. He said to her; "Alyssa, your are Richards mother. His only mother. He needs you." With tears rolling down her face as fierce as a water fall, and her blood pumping so fast she began to black out. She looked at the man with great disgust, spat at the ground in front of him and said; "Leave! Go! Get out of here!"

The man quickly threw the gun in the back of his truck and sped away. Not even bothering to turn on his head lights in the dark street.

 By the time the man was gone, Tom was breathing heavily. The blood from the gunshot wound began bleeding out of control. Alyssa couldnt stop crying, all she could do was scream and cry. meanwhile richard stare at his dying father. Speechless and crying aswell he knew what was happining. His father lay on the blacktop, weak and in pain. Unable to talk and dying from the blood loss.

With tears rolling down his face like an eye dropper , richard said to his father; " Daddy, are you dying?"

Knowing that he couldnt lie to his own son, but unable to speak he answered with a small nodd.

"Daddy you cant die! Daddy please! I need you! your my only dad. please dont die."

Tom looked at his son, and his wife. And tryed to say something but was to weak to complete it; "Wife, son, I am sorry for my-" Half way through his appoogy he passed out. Most of his blood had left his body, and he lay nearly dead. His skin was cold and pale. His heart nearly stopped beating.

At the very same time, an ambulence arrived at the scene, and brought him to the hospital.
