Chapter 3: Daisy

Daisy is my sister, trained to be a healer at birth, and got pretty good at her job. Now though, she was treating  Max. As well as she was trained, none  of our bee's were careless enough to get into a wasp attack, so Daisy didn't know how to treat the wounds.
Finally she decided to use some flower sap, and fresh honey to heal it.
(Flower sap you stop infecton, honey to keep it closed, like a bandaid.)
"You'll have to stay here for a while, " Daisy instructed Max. "I want to check your wounds every day."
I knew that none of the bee's in my hive were that fond of loner bee's, but Daisy would do whatever she could to help an injured bee, even this loner.
"Anna, will you fetch some food for Max." These word's snapped me lofty of my thoughts.
"Yes, of course," I mumbled.
Only half of the honey we make goes to our food supply. A quarter goes to Daisy, for healing supplies, and the other quarter goes to the newborn bee's and the queen.
I take a small bowl, the size of a watermelon seed and scoop some honey. This is a normal bee's meal.
Still as I walk back to Daisys place I think to myself....... why do bee's work so hard when were the only ones that enjoy honey. Then a question hit me like a bowling ball knocking over the pins..... what if we could share honey with the world. Then maybe humans will look at us differently.
As I took the honey Max I had decided something.
I was going to ask the queen about it later, then maybe she would have advice for me.
When I got back max and Daisy, I had that weird feeling again.
Daisy was sorting her healing supplies, so I gave the honey straight top Max. When I looked into his deep green eyes the feeling got stronger.
He knows what it's like to have adventure, and enjoy being outside instead of making honey all day long.
I sort of felt jealous that I didn't get to explore the world like he did, because loners don't have a family, they live by themself. So Max didn't have rules to follow, he just did what he wanted.
Now that was the type of life I wanted to live.
