Chapter 3

Darcy

"I was so nervous, I mean I know all the applicants here are nervous, but I am it here for the job, I'm here to get my love back and I really don't care how long it's going to take me to do that, I will surely give in my best," I said to myself smiling lightly...

I was still in deep thought when I noticed one of Fredrick's guards walking in our direction, and I rearranged myself and stare at him.

"Good morning everyone here, I hope you all are doing well?" he asked passing us a charming smile while we nod our head affirmatively in response.

"I got a response for Mr. Fredrick, I hope you all understand without taking the news badly," he stated calmly but my heart skipped a bit, the other applicants turned to stare at each other as they wonder what he had to say.

"Currently, the company would be no longer be needing a PA, thank you so much for coming, have a nice day," he ended it with a wave.

Some of the applicants kept making murmuring and making some grumpy sounds as they left, I was dumbfounded after hearing the information.

"I was confused as to what to do next, I had my expectations high because I thought this was going to turn out well and there is no possible way Fredrick wouldn't want to see me or at least maybe.., "I thought as tears spill from my eyes.

"Maybe there is no second chance to correct my mistakes for me, or probably I shouldn't have gotten my hopes so high and now they are washed down the drain, "I thought and picked my purse after taking a deep breath.

I stood up from the chair, randomly thinking of other ways I could win him over but surprisingly I am confused as to what to do next, neither do I have an idea nor do I have a plan B.

I was about to leave the company, when I heard my name from an unfamiliar voice, causing me to halt immediately. I turned my head around and my eyes landed on the same guy who just informed us to leave.

I stare at him in confusion and pointed at myself to confirm he really wants me and it was not a mistake.

Please come with me, he said and  I took slow calculated steps until I got in front of him.

Please this way, he gestured for me to move further, which I did while he trailed behind me as we took the elevator.

Finally, we got to another building, there I saw many workers walking around with files and doing their job, while I sighed.

He pushed the door open and ask me to walk in, I did so and then a familiar fragrance hit my nose and I smiled and remember when I had selected it for him, that particular day I had bought deodorant for myself with the help of Fredrick, while I picked one for him.

"Miss Darcy," I heard my name again and this time, I was snapped back to consciousness, when my eyes landed on the guy I have been wanting to see.

"Fredrick, "I called out with a shaky voice, as tears brimmed down my eyes, he stares at me coldly but I didn't care, all I wanted to do was to bug him at that moment but his response made me stumbled.

"It's boss to you miss Darcy, would you have your seat or so you prefer to get fired for a job you haven't even started," he smirked and I gulped hard, taking a seat...

"Good, I want to start by saying, I hate the dress you ate putting on, and the color is just so awful,  you should do better next time," he said and my heart broke into shattered pieces.

"If I'm not mistaken, you are quite familiar with the duties of a PA to his boss, right?" He asked coldly while u bod my head and he banged the table making me shake in fright.

Your reply to my question professional with your mouth and not with your entire he said without completing his statement as he made a disgusted face, while I broke down in tears.

"Yes sir," I said in muffles while he nods his head.

"Good, there would be no relationship or whatever existing between the two of us, if there is anything that should connect us, it has to be work-related understood," he asked while I replied to him politely.

"How did he read my mind, or was he probably informed about the reasons why I came here in the first place," I thought silently as he listed out a few more rules, which I know I only recalled a few of them.

"Alright, since you grab all I have been saying, you may leave, the receptionist would direct you to your office, which is very close to mine because I would be needing you always, and also you resume tommorow," he said and made a phone call, while I stood up and bowed my head before walking out of his office.

I breathed out immediately I got out of his office, the atmosphere there and the one outside differ a lot and u was grateful I didn't die in there because he looked so scary and extremely cold which scared me a lot.

"He wasn't the sweet, kind, and lovable personal I knew he was, it was obvious some things had changed, a lot had change actually and he is going to be a difficult nut to crack if this attitude of his continues," I thought silently.

My phone rang and it was a text from Sarah, I smiled as I read the comforting words she had sent to me. I really needed one but I don't know how long I can keep going if he keeps on making me afraid of him.

"Gosh did I make a wrong decision by coming back here," I asked myself when I felt a light tap on my shoulders, which brought me back to reality.
"Congratulations ma'am, please follow me, I'll like to direct you to your new office," the receptionist said with a warm smile on her face, while I smiled back at her, and trailed behind her.

"I hope I win you back Fredrick," I mumbled silently...
