~Toby's POV~

I ran out of the mansion's front doors, not caring about anyone or anything but (y/n). I ran as fast as my legs could carrying me; weaving in between people and trees.

By the time I reached the worn down barn, it was dark. Only a little sunlight shone through the trees' leaves.

I ran inside and up the stairs. I saw (y/n) lying on the old floor, asleep. I silently walked to her side and pulled her blanket over her shoulders. She curled into a ball to get more comfortable, I assume.

"Sleep w-well." I whispered as I laid on the ground across the room.

<<Time Skip>>

I woke up the next morning to someone pushing my shoulder.

"Toby? Toby?!" A frantic voice called.

"Hhm?" I hummed in an early morning response.

"Why are you out here?" She asked me.

I rolled over to look at her. "I w-was kicked out." I told her half truthfully.

"Oh." She simply said.

I felt a gently hand stroke my hair. I looked up to (y/n), who was kneeling beside me, and smile under my mask.

"Your hair is soft." She giggled as she continued to pet my head. " Since you're here, what do you want to do?"

"I h-have some money if you w-wanna get breakfast. D-do you?" I asked sitting up.

"Sounds good. Thanks!" She jumped to her feet excitingly.

"Be c-careful of th-the old flooring." I joked.

She gave me the most serious face, a glare accompanying it. "Don't ruin my fun."

I chuckled to myself. I stood up from the floor and brushed the dust off of me. I looked back to where (y/n) had set up her stuff. My mouth hung open. She was changing into new clothes. I closed my mouth and pouted a little; she had her back towards me.

I turned back around and pretended to be occupied with something else.

"You ready Toby?" She asked.

"W-wha- oh yeah! Let's go." I turned back to her.

She smiled and hopped down the stairs and outside. I followed behind.

"W-where you w-wanna go?" I asked breaking the silence between us.

"I don't know. You pick." She smiled and turned to me, walking backwards.

She happily kept walking. I watched her, our eyes locking with each other's. She wasn't concentrating on her footing and tripped. I lunged forward and caught her, inches from the ground. She blushed shyly.

"Th-thank you." She said as I pulled her up.

I nodded giving her a 'you're welcome.' I took off my goggles as we neared the crowded city. We walked a little in silence before I broke it again. I started humming 'In the End' by Linkin Park.

(I'm too lazy to write the right way. Bare with me.)

~Regular POV~

Toby: (It starts with one) One thing I don't know why, It doesn't even matter how hard you try. Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme To explain in due time

(Y/n): All I know...

Toby: Time is a valuable thing, Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings. Watch it count down to the end of the day. The clock ticks life away
