Javier knew that something wasn't right with you anymore, you went from talking and singing for hours and always smiling at people but as soon as you and Micah got into a relationship, you stopped smiling, you hardly ate anything and you would always flinch if someone touched you or raised their voice.
It wasn't just Javier who noticed this, half the camp had as well. You sat uncomfortably on Micah’s lap as he kissed and bite your neck, every so often you would look around camp secretly asking for help.
Javier noticed your eyes seeking for help and couldn't control himself, he got up from his seat at the campfire and walked over to you and Micah.
"Hey chica" Javier said and smiled.
"What do you want?" Micah asked and started to get handsy.
You wiggled a little to try and get Micah away from the place you really didn’t want him, Javier noticed how uncomfortable you quickly got and decided to get you away from him.
"Y/N, do you think you could help me give Boaz a proper clean?" Javier asked and looked at you.
"She's busy" Micah said and looked at Javier.
"She doesn’t seem so busy" Javier said and smirked a little.
You looked at Javier and nodded your head before quickly getting off Micahs lap and walking over to the horses with Javier. Once Micah couldn't hear you two anymore, Javier turned to face you.
"Are you alright?" Javier asked.
"I'm fine Javier" You lied.
Javier let out a sigh before gently pulling you closer to him, as soon as his arms went around you, you tensed up. Javier noticed this and started to rub your back to calm you down.
"It's ok, I've got you" Javier whispered.
"Please, don't let me go back to him" You pleaded and clinged to Javier.
Javier's face softened at the sight of you and held you even closer, you smiled slightly and nuzzled your head under his chin.
"I'll keep you safe, I promise" Javier told you and swayed a little.
"Thank you Javier" You said and looked at him.
Javier smiled at you before seeing you smile back at him for the first time in a long while.
A few weeks later
You broke things off with Micah with the help of Javier, after you and Micah were over you started going back to your normal self. Javier couldn't help but keep an eye on you and make sure that Micah didn't give you any trouble.
"Hey Javier" You said and sat next to him.
"Hello hermosa" Javier said and smiled at you.
"You've been calling me that just recently, what does it mean?" You asked and tilted your head.
Javier chuckled before gently and carefully holding your hand, you flinched a little before smiling and holding his hand as well.
"It mean beautiful" Javier said and kissed the back of your hand.
You smiled and blushed before moving closer to Javier and leaning your head against his shoulder, Javier smiled before kissing your head and then leaning his head against yours.
"You look more happy" John said and sat down opposite you.
"It's because of this outlaw right here" You said and looked at Javier.
"So are you two together now?" John asked.
Your eyes widen a little before you started to blush, Javier chuckled a little before answering John.
"It's up to the lady" Javier said and looked at you.
"You two would be cute together" Arthur said as he joined the conversation.
"C’mon, don't pressure her into things" Javier said to get Arthur and John to calm down a little.
You only smiled before slightly looking at Javier and kissing his neck, Javier blushed a little before chuckling as he heard cheers from Arthur and John.
"Should we give us a go then?" Javier asked and looked at you.
"I would like that" You said and smiled.
Javier smiled back at you before gently cupping your face and kissing your forehead, you chuckled a little before leaning your head against his shoulder again.
Arthur and John both smiled at you and Javier before getting up and leaving you two alone, Javier looked at you before wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you closer. You smiled as you felt Javier hold you protectively and you couldn't help but feel safe in his arms.
