Yasmin's pov
"Push me higher" arlo screamed as i pushed him, the swing was making screeching noises.
"I think the swing is going to break let's play on something else" i said as arlo and april raced to the slide in the park.
"Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" they shouted as they slid down the slide , i just watched them as i sat on the nearest bench. I got forced to take them to the park because xander can't he has basketball practice.
All of a sudden i heard a crying noise i looked around to see who it was but something caught my eyes behind a tree i quickly ran to see who or what is it and i saw a little girl around arlo's age crying and i sat next to her on the root of the tree . She had short blond hair and she had light blue eyes and freckles.
"What's wrong ?" i asked her , she looked up at me and she wiped her tears with her sleeve and whispered " nothing"
"what's your name ?" i asked her as she quietly whispered " emily, what's yours ", i smiled at her and told her my name. Just then someone was screaming her name as she looked at me and said "i got to go" i turned to see a familiar face with the exact blond hair and blue eyes as her.
In front of me stood DEREK JOHNSON , so derek has a little sister now
"Don't ever run off again do you know how scared mum and i were" he said as she nodded her head
"Bye yasmin" emily said as she hugged me tightly
I quickly checked to see if arlo and april were ok and there were still sliding down the slide and screaming like crazy people.
"come on , let's go home " i said as they ran to me
After a long 10 minutes walk we finally got home and i heard my mum speaking on a phone , i quickly gave her salams and went upstairs to change. I changed into a comfortable pair of joggers and a jumper. Now i can finally chill and watch netflix all day yesss this is why i love weekends but before i start a movie i need snacks.
I quickly ran downstairs as i heard my mum speaking on a phone to a familiar voice then i noticed who it was , my dad.
"I need to tell you something maryam" my dad voice echoed
"what is it" mum asked
"I have cancer and i only have 2 months to live "
"wha-tt" my mum stuttered as she started crying , tears started dropping down from my eyes and i wiped them.
"maryam please don't cry , this was meant to happen everything is in allah's hands" my dad said
"nono nooooooo" my mum screamed as i ran over and hugged her tightly , i cried in her arms
"I didn't have a business trip i left cause i didn't want to worry you " he said
"wha-t whatt about chemotherapy ?" i asked wiping my tears
"It's too expensive i can't afford it" he said
"How much is it ?" mum asked
" 100,000 dollars" dad said
