Hello, we are the Astral Community (obviously) haha, my name is Texan_Witch1234 on Wattpad, and my real name is Shay. I was just wanting to congratulate you, on winning second place in mystery&thriller! If you have some time, you be willing to undergo an interview?

Sure, thank you so much! The awards were great, and it gave me an opportunity to improve my skills as well.

You are very welcome! I can tell that you're very talented. What gave you the inspiration, for coming up with "The Masked Devil" ?

I actually never had any desire for writing before, but I imagine a lot. As you can see, the main female lead, has my name. So, the book is one of my fantasies. And the characters too, are related to my real life. Not fully, but partially.

That's really deep. So, does your main character represent you?

Yes it does, almost. I have given my lead appearance, as well as my ways of approaching the life. The slight difference is, she is older and has my dream job.

That's really interesting. For someone who has never really written before, you are really talented. If only it came as easily to everyone else. Do you plan on making this a series, or is it a 'one and done' type of book?

I am not going to make it a series. This will be a one and done kind of book.

Alright, do you plan on writing more books in the future?

I am already working on a series, and two other books. But, I will release them a bit later.

I'm sure that you have many readers, who are looking forward to seeing more from you! Do you write in any other genres, or just Mystery&thriller?

My usually genres, are romantic thrillers, or crime thrillers.

What is it about writing thrillers, that intrigue you?

It's just that... only romance, makes me feel bored and only thrillers, make me feel incomplete. A mixture of both of them, is the best to keep readers occupied in the thriller, and to let them enjoy the chemistry between the leads.

I know what you mean. It's nice to have something extra when writing a book. Do you plan on publishing 'The Masked Devil" when it's complete?

Actually... no. I will keep it on Wattpad itself. Because, nobody knows about my writing. I like to keep it a secret.

Why is that, are you ashamed for people to know? You could always publish under a different name, many authors do this.

Nope, I'm not ashamed. I am proud of my writing, but still... my parents don't like it. I am still under eighteen and I will require their permission and help regarding the publication.

That's unfortunate, it's important to have a good support system. Why do you feel this way?

I am seventeen and I should seriously focus on my studies as the last year I'm school, is very important in India. Most of the parents value the studies and marks, more than the passion, or talents of their child. Their mentality is like that, it's different to change.

I can't imagine how difficult that must be for you, and for other people who share the same interests... what is some advice that you would give to your fellow readers?

Always follow what you feel is right, but never forget about the other person. Be patient. If your work is not getting recognized, don't lose hope. Hard work always gets what it deserves.

I couldn't agree more. So, tell me a little bit more about the plot of your story.

The story revolves around Priya Mehra, who is an IPS officer. She is brave, smart, and daring. She never backs down from doing her duty. She is honest, but honesty isn't always appreciated, especially in a world full of selfish desires. A series of killings, begin in Mumbai. The female race is getting brutally murdered, one after the other. Headless bodies begin to pile up. Priya, has to do something before the killer gets out of control. There are two male leads too. Arjun (Priya's colleague) and Nill (a billionaire who loves Priya.) she does everything she can, but soon... the killing become connected to her past.

That's really interesting! I have to ask though... how can something so dark and brutal, be a fantasy? There's nothing wrong with it, I'm just curious.

Haha, actually I added the serial killer part to make it more thrilling. The story is about love, hate, and betrayal. But who wouldn't want to be a brave officer in pursuit of a virtual killer?

Okay, so... since the the MC represents you, why is it written in the third person?

To create a thrilling experience, to keep my readers hooked.

How do you even write in the third person? I know there is a slight difference between first and third.

Yes there is. It's difficult, sometimes I mess up too with the wrong pronouns.

When writing in the third point of view, do you have to focus on other character's emotions and thoughts as well?

Yes, it is a very important element. Since there is both first and third. The emotions should be equally balanced.

I couldn't agree more! I know that you mentioned you've never written before, but has it ever crossed your mind before this?

I have written a few short stories, but nothing major. My BFF encouraged me to do so.

Well from what I've seen, you are doing a very good job. The words seem to flow so effortlessly onto the page, and your writing flow is phenomenal. It's only normal that we, as writers doubt ourselves. We want our work to be perfect.

This is all I have right now. It's all I enjoy right now... writing stories. I want to be proper, and I have my own set of insecurities.

That's reasonable, and normal. I only have a couple questions left. Is the serial killer in your story anonymous, or is it someone that Priya knows?

Anonymous. But, the killings are connected to her past, by another factor.

Wow, this makes me want to read more of your book! Is Priya involved in a love triangle?

Yes she is, but I can't say much. Maybe she will choose one of them who is suitable.

And one last question. Do you ever think that you'll branch out in the future? What I mean by this, is... do you think you'll ever write in other genres? It sounds to me, like fantasy would be a great genre for you, because you can throw in romance and thrill into that as well.

Maybe, I can't say much. Branching out into a new genre mean, getting out of your comfort zone, and trying something new... which is challenging.

Exactly! I have no doubt in my mind, that you will succeed in whatever you choose to do.

Thank you so much, it means a lot to me.

You're welcome! Thank you for allowing me to take your interview! I hope to see more from you in the future.
