Generic Imagine:

292 5 2

Alright so, before anyone starts reading whatever the fuck drabbles I come up with on the fly, I'm gonna set out some ground rules. Every time I feel like uploading something, the first part of the chapter's gonna have basic background details-- so y/n's gender will be stated below (because I plan on adding more gender variety to this fucking thing), among some other details such as uhhh what season the imagine is taking place in, and if there's any ships. Always drop your thoughts below and I'll probably look it over and decide to write about it or not. Also I'm writing shit in third person.

Y/N: female, 16, cadet in the survey corps, built as fuck why not

Season: end of s2, right after shit hit the fan

After All This Time

"Hey. Why is the underside of this chair still dusty?" Levi's voice rang through the air. He looked at the group, currently cooped up in the main room. The resources the Survey Corps have gotten as time passed on thinned out exponentially, yet so did their numbers. Dealing with betrayals in their ranks in the first place (Annie) was bad enough, and now... Dust plagued the place. To Levi, both things were on the same level of bad.

"Uh oh. Looks like someone missed a spot!" Connie pointed out, crashing shoulders with Y/N. She flinched, then pushed back in retaliation, making Connie yelp. She looked away from the Captain's commandeering gaze, ice cold and rigid just like his pose. It was too late for him to send her off cleaning again, so...

"L/N, get up."

"Yes sir!"

And get up she did, immediately and with her arms stuck by her sides, embarrassed she was putting on such a child-like display in front of her higher-up.  Levi kicked the dusty chair away from the table, motioning towards it with a tilt of the head, passively ordering her to take the seat she couldn't tend to properly. Levi took her seat between Connie and Mikasa, placing his cup of tea in front of him like this was a common, regular occurrence.

"You know~ the only reason Captain Levi lets you off easy is because of your talent," Ymir draped an arm over Y/N, speaking lowly. She wasn't really all that impressed, picking her cup of tea up and raising an eyebrow.

"Why are you telling me about your little crush at a time like this?" Y/N kept a straight face, making sure the rest couldn't catch onto her farce.

"Really!? Who is it, Ymir? This is news to me!" Sasha perked up instantly, while Ymir merely blushed and froze up.

"What? No-- that's not what I said--" Ymir stuttered, trailing off awkwardly.

"The cool and sly  Ymir is stuttering? I didn't believe it before, but I do now." Jean pointed at the subject of his question, doing his best to bite back a snort.

"I have to agree with Jean on this one," Eren, who was doing a shit job at hiding his amusement, said.

"Uh oh... Was I not supposed to tell anyone? I'm sorry, Ymir," Y/N finally cracked a smile, elbowing the tanned girl, who only recoiled.

"Don't do that! You're fucking giant and you're gonna squash me with that thing."

"I'm only two inches taller, y'know. You're truly insensitive, Ymir."

Yeah, you sure are breaking her heart." Reiner joined in on the clowning.

Levi's passivity and the group's laughter reminded Y/N that this night would be one of the good few; a reminder of their three-year-long training. Little did she know Annie wasn't the only one who was betraying them the entire time, and how things ended years down the line.

But this is the present, so she shouldn't worry about that stuff until it happend. After all, people aren't good nor bad, and you can do nothing but fight for your own. So, she laughed, and laughed and laughed, making painfully happy memories with those who will die before their time, or spies from outside.
