Their carriage came to a stop in front of the Richards' house.
This was the first ball of the season but not Louis' first.
Yesterday Charlotte was presented to the court.
Louis found this tradition to be quite unnecessary and extremely ridiculous.
Men didn't have to participate in this tenious activity, so why should women?
He decided not to say anything though and a good decision it was, Charlotte was the most tense he had ever seen her to be and saying the wrong thing would have surely set her off.
It had gone incredibly well though, even if Louis did not favour Charlotte as his sister, it was quite obvious that she was one of the most beautiful among those present. Her being extremely talented at playing the piano was a definite plus as well. It would not be hard for her to find a good husband. Louis wasn't entirely sure about how he felt about that. He loved his siblings to no extent and would definitely be upset to see her go, on the other hand though, he knew entirely how much marriage meant to her since she had spent many hours talking to Louis about how she would enjoy married life.

His thoughts were interrupted by Charlotte's voice. "Oh I'm so excited, aren't you brother?" She didn't wait for an answer though continuing on "I can't wait to dance. Oh! How romantic it'll be to dance the night away with a man maybe even more! I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket now, don't you agree Mother? Her mother had opened her mouth when Charlotte continued "Come now I must not be late. I need to find someone to dance with immediately. "Nobody is going to want to dance with you if you keep chattering on like that." Louis teased. "Louis" Their mother warned as Charlotte scowled. "We'll see who you'll end up with on the dance floor Brother." She joked back. "Oh you shall both be the death of me" Their mother grumbled climbing out of the carriage as both her children erupted into giggles following her out.

Louis had always admired Charlotte's sense of humour it was almost always near impossible to have a dull moment when around her.

"I can't believe this is to be my first ball." Charlotte whispered into Louis' ear as she all but dragged him with her arm in his.

"I shall be bored in less than twenty minutes." Louis muttered. Charlotte gasped seemingly offended.

"You most definitely shall not! You shall dance and you shall watch me dance. I shall not let you take me home early I will have five dances at minimum." She said bossily. Louis chuckled, knowing how excited she was.

"Come now Lottie, you shall finally have your princess entrance." He muttered in her ear a last time before they followed their mother into the ballroom. It was almost identical to what he remembered excluding the new faces. Enormous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, emiting a bright glow, women wearing different shades of red, white and blue, men in white waistcoats and black tailcoats huddled in groups, smiling and talking and four musicians at the farthest end of the room playing the beautiful music coming from their different instruments creating a lovely tune for the dancers, accompanying the low buzz.

Charlotte was clearly impressed as a gasp left her mouth, Louis would not blame her though, he had had a similar reaction to his first ball as well although that might have been the result of him seeing the most beautiful man he had ever laid eyes on. He had not heard of or talked to the mystery man the entire night bit his beauty was imprinted into his brain.

"Oh it's lovely" Charlotte's voice interrupted his daydreams.

The night had gone fairly well thus far other than the time Louis had rejected two dances.

Neither of them were unattractive and if he wasn't the way he was, he might even had danced with a particularly pretty one but he wasn't looking for a dance partner, not among women at least.

Charlotte was onto her second waltz of the night when someone called out to him.

"Lord Tomlinson a deep voice started, startling Louis. He turned around to see an incredibly handsome man. The same man he had seen all those nights ago. The nameless man smiled showing off his brilliant dimples, leaving Louis awestruck and staring at him. He couldn't be blamed though, the man had dark green eyes, shining under the chandelier light, perfect pink lips and a head full of beautiful brown hair with every single curl placed perfectly except one single strand falling into his eyes, making him look ravishing.

"I'm Harry, Harry Styles."
