Selena's POV:

I park my car in front of the massive house and walk to the big door. I press the doorbell and wait though I am not sure if Mr. Kim is in the state to come and attend the door. But the door opens to my relief but it didn't last for more than two seconds before I spot Chris's blonde hair. I don't know why but I am not very fond of this girl from the start. I am pretty sure she is atleast three years elder to me.

She gives me a small smile and moves aside to let me in. I return her smile as I step inside the house. It looks even bigger from inside. A pair of big couches is placed at the centre of the living room and a small bar filled with numerous bottles of alcohol is on one side. The grey carpet on the floor adds contrast to the plain white walls and couches. My eyes scan the plain white walls and that's when I find that one of the walls is stained by a tint of brown. It looks like someone has thrown something at it.

"That.... he probably has thrown a bottle on the wall yesterday. I wasn't there but I cleaned the glass pieces from there," Chris answers my thoughts. But her words make me more confused. What does she mean she wasn't there with him? They were both together last night when I saw them. Did he go somewhere else?

"Were you not with him last night?" I ask her.

"No. He returned from the restaurant without me. He left to go to the restroom but he didn't return for a long time. When I checked for him in the restroom, he wasn't there and his car was not also to be found. So I grabbed a taxi and returned home. He was already too drunk before my arrival. One of his hands was bleeding but he didn't let me treat it. Then he made give him a bl-," she stopped mid sentence and looked at me uncomfortably. I understood what she was trying to say and so I nodded as if asking to continue. She gave me a small smile before continuing.

"Then, he grabbed another bottle and went to his room. I went inside after cleaning the broken glass but he was already passed out. I just plastered his wound because I didn't know what to do. I thought he will be fine if he sleep it off but he didn't wake up and so I called Jimin. He informed me that you would come by," she explains me.

"Where is he now?" I ask her.

"He is in his room still dozed off. It is the last room on the left," she tells me.

"Thank you. Shall we go see him?" I ask as I start walking in the way she showed me.

"I'm sorry but I have to be somewhere else today," she looks at me regretfully. Now I notice that she is dressed up to go out.

"Oh! It's okay but may I ask where? Because you have to stay here in your mas- I mean here all the time, right?"

She smiles at me again and I find myself getting fond of her smile. I don't feel the same amount of hatred that I felt for her moments ago. "I go to see my son every Sunday."

Her words make my eyes widen in shock. I'm not being judgmental but a son? How old is he? How can she do this to him? Did she have a husband? If not, what happened to him? Or... Is he Mr. Kim's son?

"Don't be so surprised. I am a single parent and my son is in a nanny house right now. I will tell you the whole story later because I really need to go now. Take care of dad- I mean... Mr. Kim. If there is anything you need, call me. You can find my number on that diary," she tells me and points to the tea table in the living room.

I cannot help but feel respectful towards this woman. She chose to answer me genuinely even though she doesn't need to. I can understand how much hard it is for her to say this to me and so I let her go though I want to ask her a million more questions. She leaves after a final goodbye hug.
