This used to be a big thing with me. 30 days to earn. You have exactly, or approx, or generally so, thirty one days to earn your keep. Why isn't it 31 one days? Cause 30 works better in my mind, nice and rounded.
What does it mean?
You have 30 days to earn your keep. You have 4 weeks basically to figure out how to make pay roll, thats what it meant to me. I had 30 days to try and take a 6 month close cycle on a deal 90 days, 20 days, or tomorrow. I had 5 days to chill, 15 days to worry, and 25 days to panic all in the same 30 days in general. I carried the stress of whether or not the people I was working with would be the people I would be working with next month. I pondered what to tell my wife if I didn't earn.
I needed to earn.
I had to earn.
If I don't earn, who the fuck will?
This was the path, the mindset, the divine will for a long time. It was powerful, it manifested many things that would not of existed without this command in my mind, yet it was also the key to my eventual burnout.
The pressure makes you a carnivore for solving for time, solving for money, solving for self justification, solving for lust, solving for attention, it makes you really good at making mechanisms that propel your agendas, both beneficial and not.
I cannot stress enough that the power of 30 days to earn mentality is strong, its like the force, except you realize the force isn't just all around you, and part of this nature bullshit, its actually from you in the first place, you are the force, you are manifest destiny, your lens on reality is reality.
This thinking helped kick Big Kitty into over drive and go from doing 50k gigs a year to 3million in the same year.
Its a place I could go back to but I don't want to. Because it will force me to solve for the stress, it will force me back into behaviors that will suck, and stupid. So the goal now is to de-risk the effort, find other ways to minimize the load while maximizing the gains.
Be careful with this.
Its like a spell in some ways, a creed that once you commit to it, is hugely powerful and a rush really if you're all in, but it will destroy a human soul in 3 years or more. Its like a power from Attack on Titan. You can hold it for a limited time only until you go insane or die, etc, by design in many ways.
