I pull up, there's a few cars here. I jump out and make my way over to the group of people. "Hello? I got a call about two male dogs."

The tall guy glares at me. "They're in the pit somewhere."

I look through the grate. "Have you tried looking?"

"That's what you're for. You sleep with their kind."

I walk over to the manhole. "The kind that isn't a pack of assholes?"

"You little!"

I open the manhole and climb down. I shouldn't rev them up. There's nothing wrong with Kidd and Killer. I get close to the bottom and jump off.

"Now where are those two?" Hmm, I better put my tracer on. Open my app, "yep it's tracing my steps."

I make my way to the pit. I can't see them. I hear laughing and snickering. As I look up, they start tipping buckets over. I duck back into the tunnel. Filthy water comes splashing down.

"Assholes..."

I poke my head out, they're gone. Seems like they are. The quicker I find them the better. I step out and make my way to the other side. There are more tunnels... I pick a tunnel and start walking down one. It starts getting dark, I put my head torch on.

"Boys where are you? Here boys ~" I can't hear anything. "Here pups ~"

I hear some whining. Found them, now where are they?

"I'm here to help. I can get you out of here."

I take a step and hear chains and growling. Hmm... May have aggressive dogs...

I look down a tunnel and see a pair of ears duck out of the way. I slowly head down the tunnel.

"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm here to help." I come out to a small open area. Turn the light down a bit and look for them.

"It's okay ~" Look towards the growling.

A Great Dane baring his teeth. He's chained to the wall. It's a choker? No, it's a prong collar. And a shock collar?

"I bet those collars are uncomfortable. How about I take them off. You can come home with me?"

He sits and looks at me. Then looks toward the other side. I look over, oh no!

I run over to the other dog. He's lying on the ground, eyes closed. "Are you okay?"

Dane starts barking and growling. I hear the chains cracking.

"I'm not hurting him, it's okay. Buddy, can you open your eyes for me?"

The Dane starts whining. I take my bag off and look for the bolt cutters. And walk back over to him. He changes and tries to bite me.

"It's okay. I'm cutting the chain. I don't have any keys."

He sits and looks over at the other dog. He's a mess, I can't tell what breed he is. Other than he's small. Must have been used as bait.

He lays down and I turn the light back up. Place the cutters at the lock, and cut it off. He goes to paw at it.

"Wait! Let me do it." He stops, and I take a look at the collar. It's embedded in a bit. "Did you try changing with this on?" He nods, "hmm... I can take it off but it'll hurt. Or we can wait till we get back to my place?"

He pulls away and walks over to the smaller dog.

"We'll get out of here. I'll treat him first, his injuries look bad." I cut his collar off to.

He whimpers, and Dane nudges him. I pick him up and head out the tunnel. This isn't good, he didn't respond to me picking him up. I head back to the manhole.

We get to the pit, I hear laughing. I look up, it's the tall asshole. "He looks pretty fucked up. No, matter, you won't get out."

"Have fun," he walks away.

"Assholes!" I run back to the ladder. "I have to put him down a second." I place him down, and quickly climb up the ladder. I try to open it, but it won't budge. "Fuck! Something on top of it! Damnit!" I climb back down and pick him up.

I feel a tug on my pants.

"Do you know another way?"

He nods and starts walking. Hopefully, we can get out. I don't want to call Kidd and Killer. I follow him through the tunnels. We come to a dead end. He looks up, it's another manhole.

"I'll see if it's unlocked." Place him back down and climb up. Get to the top and push. It lifts, "sweet!" I hear voices, "shit!" I peek out, it's the assholes are close... I climb down quietly and take my bag off. "It's unlocked, but the assholes are up there."

I look through my bag for a harness and something to make a sling. I can sit him in, the big problem is him.

"If I put a harness on you. Teather you to me, I can carry you up that way. I know it'll be uncomfortable because you'll be daggling." He shakes his head and sits. "Okay, I'll put this on, tie you to me. I make a sling, so he's a bit more comfortable. Then we're out of here."

I make sure they're both secure. And I got everything packed.

"Once we get out, we'll head to the fourby. Quietly and we'll get out of here."

He nods and I start climbing. I know Great Danes are heavy. Fuck he's a big boy. I have to make sure I don't bump, his friend.

"You doing okay?" I look back down, he's daggling. "Not much further now."

I get to the top and peek out. The assholes have moved away. Good, fourby not to far away.

"We're good," I move the top off and climb out.
I turn around, he climbs out. "You good?" He nods, "this way."

I head back to the fourby. I place his friend in the front seat. He jumps in the back and looks over the seat.

"He's a Maltipoo?" My phone starts ringing, "it's home." I hop in and drive off. I answer, "I'm on my way home now. And -"
