Glass Heart

You let me fall.

And you let me fall hard.

Head over heels,
positively dizzy with the feeling.

And when I finally hit the bottom,
you weren't there,
to cushion the fall.

You had my glass heart.

...

And you let it shatter.

Leaving me there,
at complete rock bottom,
to slowly find the pieces.
Fingers beeding with blood
and my eyes welling with tears.

And because you let it shatter,
my fragile, innocent heart,
if you try and help pick up the pieces,
all you'll get it cut
from the shards of my broken glass heart.
