You were off to the military the moment you turned 18, it had always been you're dream to serve you're country and you were fufiling it. You had been for 2 years.
One problem...
It's Chris's birthday soon, he had sent you a letter about it though he knew you wouldn't forget just incase.
Here's where the problem coems in, you can't take a leave right now. You have been stationed in vietnam for the past 6 months and unfortunatly you just couldn't leave.
A knock on the door had snapped you out of your thoughts, turning around you were met with Seargent Drew Barlowe saluting you "Major Evans ma'am."
You smiled "At ease Seargent" She put her hand down and crossed them behind her back "What can I help you with?" "Colonel Miller has asked for you ma'am"
Furrowing your eyebrows you replied, "Thank you Seargent. Dissmissed." You both saluted before she left you alone with you're thoughts again.
Looking back at the picture on the wall of you, in Chris' arms with Scott pushing cake in you're face, you left towards Miller's office knocing on the door, and waiting for a 'come in'.
You stepped in taking you're hat off saluting before crossing youre arms infront of yourself "So I heard you had something important coming up?"
"Yes Sir, I do" You nodded, he took his hat off tossing it on the desk "Go home to you're family Major, have fun." You were so caught off gaurd but a smile broke out on you face "Thank you, Sir"
"Dissmissed, Major." A small smile was on his face as he watched you walk out the door, you reminded him of his sister. Everyone on the base was practically family so it didnt suprise you when you had an audience walking onto the plane, everyone saluted you.
The entire plane ride you had a smile on you're face waiting to touch down at the airport before taking a cab to the place that the marvel cast was having an interview at.
You had you bag on your back as you were guided through backstage before getting in position to suprise everyone, walking to the area you had to be you waited.
"So Chris, you have another sister? Y/n?" Jimmy asked him, "Yeah, I uh I do she is in the army since she turned 18." Chris had a smile on his face as he remembered when you had told him you were going off to the military.
"And you two are close?" Chris gave him a sad smile, "Definitly she's my baby sister, always has been, I mean I dont think I could live without uh without her she's my entire world."
Jimmy smiled, "Well, she sent me a video for you, aparrently its for your birthday. Here it is." He pointed to the screen as the video started playing
It was a video you had pre-recorded for him.
*The video*
You sat there before fiddling with the camera again and cursing it out causing everyone to laugh
"Finally, okay. Chris, you are the amazing and exeptianal and perfect in every way I really wish i could be there for you but unfortunetly i am here serving my country so yeah" You sighed before continuing
"This has been my dream since i was 6 and you asked me what I wanted to be and i said 'A soilder so I can pay you back for all the protecting you do for me' I dont think you actually thought i would become a soilder though, but you know it was funny when i tol dyou i was leaving. You wouldnt let go of me until I stopped crying because i was leaving you all the while you had this huge proud smile on you face, I knew form that moment that no matter what happened i had to come home, but I'm not hoem yet so i uh wanted to gove you this"
Video you started choking up from holding back tears in your eyes "Im sorry i couldnt make it but i ahve a job and i hope when i come home from the army you will have that huge proud smile on your face again but uh for now i just need you to turn around" the video ended and you had dropped your bag standing where he could see you,
He looked confused for a second beofre turning around and doing a double take before jumping out of his seat and running over to you, picking you up making you put your legs around his waist to keep yourself up.
You could tell he started sobbing into your shoulder as her put you back down on your feet, he held you face in his hands before pulling you back into his arms.
After a few minutes he had stopped crying and pulled away from you "You're okay?" His voice was just above a whisper, you nodded before he pulled you over to sit down on his lap with his arms wrapped around you.
You shook Jimmy's hand "Thank you fro your service, Major Evans." "Please call me Y/n" You smiled at him "This everyone, Is Major Y/n Evans." Everyone cheered and clapped as everyone went on with the interview.
